Here’s a big Democrat myth: Illegal alien workers are all inspiring dreamers who just want to earn a living and only take jobs Americans don’t want. The drug trafficking felon just arrested at a Home Depot is only one example undermining that pleasant but mendacious storyline.
Some illegal aliens are genuinely looking for a better life in America and would like to become citizens, but unfortunately we cannot bend our laws for individual exceptions, and such people should leave and try to come in again lawfully. Other illegals (including kids) are trafficked here to be exploited for cheap labor. Some want to make money in America while insulting, deriding, and despising our laws and history. And some illegal alien workers are flat-out dangerous criminals. That’s a lot of context Democrats will never give you.
Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin shared an illuminating story on July 17. “EXCLUSIVE: We joined Border Patrol as they carried out immigration enforcement in Sacramento this morning," he stated. "Suspected illegal immigrants scattered as soon as agents pulled into a Home Depot, leading to foot pursuits.”
Fortunately, federal officers were well-prepared. “BP tells us they surveilled the location & ran plates for two days beforehand, with some coming back as previously deported illegal immigrants. Roughly 10 arrests made in this location, including a U.S. citizen who agents say slashed the tire on one of their vehicles and was later chased down & maced,” Melugin added. The hatred against law enforcement is a serious and growing threat.

USBP Chief Border Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino told the Fox News team that “records checks revealed one of the arrested men is an aggravated felon with a prior conviction for fentanyl trafficking.” But he was working at Home Depot. That seems unsafe, to put it mildly.

Another example of illegal alien workers turning out to be serious criminals comes from a California cannabis farm—the same one for which Gov. Gavin Newsom condemned the ICE raid. Besides the unaccompanied minors working there, ICE identified a previously deported Mexican illegal alien who had been convicted of kidnapping, attempted rape, and attempted child molestation. Another Mexican was previously convicted of rape and had a DUI, while a Salvadoran illegal alien had a DUI conviction and a hit and run with property damage. Finally, a third Mexican was convicted no fewer than three times for burglary along with a DUI. These criminals were working with minors.
Even as blue-collar American men struggled to find jobs, big businesses, farms, and the Biden administration welcomed in illegal alien workers willing to accept lower wages and worse working conditions. But of course, not only were all of these people lawbreakers, and therefore criminals, some of them — surprise, surprise — were also rapists, thieves, drug traffickers, and child molesters.
Like the “Maryland father” who is a wife-abusing, drug-trafficking gang affiliate, many of the workers ICE is arresting have committed multiple crimes. They are not victims, but victimizers.
