The incompetent and dishonest Democrat mayor of Chicago just announced that crime is going down in his city. Except that nearly two dozen people were shot in just two days over this past weekend in the city.
Democrats don’t care about individuals or human life; they are and always have been the party of death and destruction. They survive on propaganda and ruthlessness. Mayor Brandon Johnson was being particularly brazen when he bragged about an alleged decline in crime on Saturday; however, considering that the very day he spoke and the previous day had been just as violent and deadly as ever in his hellhole of a city.
Claiming that there are “historic declines” in Chicago’s violent crime, Johnson rambled in a video he posted on June 21, “So year to date we see violent crime is down 21%. Homicides are down 27.6%. Shootings are down 38%, robberies are down 33%.” Of course, whenever Democrats give out statistics like that, you have to be careful about believing them. For instance, the FBI previously claimed that crime had gone down in America after its system ensured underreported data from cities that were hotspots of crime, meaning that while crime went up between 2019 and 2023, the official FBI data apparently asserted the exact opposite.

But we do know that when Johnson said his priority was to “build the safest, most affordable big city in America,” he was lying, as the 23 shooting victims of last weekend in Chicago could attest — aside from the two fatalities, who, of course, are unavailable for comment permanently.
Breitbart summed up the facts on the fatal shooting:
ABC 7 reported the two fatalities were both the result of a shooting that occurred Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m. The shots were fired “in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Road near the Tri-Taylor area” and three people were struck by gunfire.
CBS News noted the three individuals were “standing on the sidewalk” when three men exited an SUV and opened fire on them. The men then got back into the SUV and fled.
One of the shooting victims, a 25-year-old man, was able to self-transport to the hospital. The two other victims, a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were taken to the hospital, where they died.
So far this year, 174 people have been killed in Chicago. While that would seem to be a trend of decrease from last year, when 573 homicides reportedly occurred in the city altogether, it is still a terrifying statistic. The fact that Johnson bragged about supposedly decreasing violent crime on the very day that the fatal shooting occurred highlights the willful obtuseness of Democrats.

Johnson is not going to alter his policies radically; he is not interested in that, he’s only interested in somehow achieving numbers that sound good in a video clip. He and so many other Democrat leaders actually encourage crime and protect criminals, especially if they are illegal aliens. In fact, Johnson just defied the Trump administration after an official announced they aimed to send more ICE agents to the sanctuary city of Chicago to round up illegal alien criminals.
Johnson’s goal and the goal of so many Democrats is not to protect Americans. It is to maintain themselves in power while enslaving everyone else.
