And with this move, CNN puts the perfect coda on its decision to run a Hillary Clinton infomercial ahead of the 2016 election.
CNN Films’ decision to hire senior director Courtney Sexton — whose previous films include Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” and “Jimmy Carter Man from Plains” — is further evidence that the production company’s forthcoming Hillary Clinton documentary will be liberal propaganda, the spokesman for the Republican National Committee told POLITICO on Monday.
“Any concerns the Clinton team had are all gone. This puts the ‘p’ in puff piece,” Sean Spicer, the RNC’s communications director wrote in an email. “What’s next, Michael Moore directing?”
To paraphrase Hillary, what difference would it make if they did hire Michael Moore? Sexton is Michael Moore with less displacement. Her credits almost nothing but far left crockumentaries.
Sexton’s other credits include activist films such as agribusiness documentary Food, Inc., the Abu Ghraib film Standard Operating Procedure, and Casino Jack and the United States of Money, which focused on lobbyist Jack Abramoff and his ties to the Bush White House. Before joining Participant, she worked on HBO’s Deadwood with the eventual director of An Inconvenient Truth.
That CNN hired her after the flap over its movie is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Either they’re totally tone deaf to the criticism, or they just don’t care and aren’t even trying anymore. Either way, the RNC’s vote to keep CNN out of the presidential debates has been entirely validated.
