Ilhan’s Greatest Hits

Most people know by now that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Little Mogadishu, formerly known as Minneapolis) does not harbor a deep and abiding love for her adopted homeland of America — or, for that matter, Americans, or Americanism.

But the extent to which this woman is aggressively and explicitly anti-American — a view she is far too comfortable expressing publicly and proudly even while serving in the United States Congress — might not be as popularly understood.

In her own words about calls to have her deported, she can “live wherever she wants,” so she doesn’t actually care:

I have no worry. I don’t know how they take away my citizenship, like deport me. But I don’t even know like why that’s like such a scary threat. Like, I’m not that eight year old who escaped war anymore. I’m grown… I can go live wherever I want.

“I can live anywhere,” Omar declares nonchalantly.

Great. Let’s make the dream happen together, Omar.

The easy way would be for you to use some of your ill-gotten wealth — she has accumulated a net worth of an estimated $30 million while serving in Congress — to purchase a one-way ticket to Mogadishu and live your dream abroad.

The harder but perhaps more cathartic route, which many Americans would be happy to oblige, is to confiscate all of your wealth you’ve accumulated since you’ve been here and forcibly evict you.

Although she would certainly prefer the former method, Omar appears to be on board with the general concept of sending her somewhere more congruous with her values and nationality.

Here is Ilhan Omar essentially pledging allegiance to a foreign state — her foreign state, “her country” that “she misses and wishes to live in.”

I am an American migrant in the U.S. Congress. But I am a Somali girl. A girl with your lineage. A girl with your language. A girl with your religion. That was a young child taken from her country. That misses her country and wishes to live there. And share with its people. I am hopeful in the future that me and my children will be able to raise our kids in this land, where I was born and raised.

To wild applause from a crowd of Somali migrants, as Ilhan looks on in smiling approval, at the 2024 Somali Independence Day festival, Hassan Ali Khaire, former Prime Minister of Somalia, explains that Omar has no interest in Minnesota or the American people, but rather Somalia and Somalis.

Ilhan Omar, as several Trump administration officials, including border czar Tom Homan and Donald Trump himself, have claimed, likely cheated on her immigration paperwork by marrying her brother illegally in order to provide him with an American visa, which, if true, constitutes immigration fraud.

Via Center For Immigration Studies, 2018 (emphasis added):

The Democratic candidate for a safe seat in the U.S. House of Representatives stands accused of immigration/marriage fraud and bigamy. The district is in Minnesota.

More precisely, Somalia-born, now-naturalized Ilhan Omar is accused of marrying her own brother while being married to another, as well as misuse of campaign funds…

Omar admits the marriage, more or less her second, to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, and says that he is not her brother, but refuses to release any documents or specific information to support her story…

What we have here is a story about a successful young woman who has put together what may be immigration-related marriage fraud by adroitly using a combination of:

  • U.S. law to get (presumably) a green card for Elmi;
  • The ongoing chaos in Somalia, which she says eliminated the possibility of obtaining birth certificates for herself or her alleged brother;
  • Traditional marriages and divorces (i.e., unrecorded with the authorities) when they met her or her alleged brother's needs.

You simply can’t allow foreign nationals to illegally marry their brothers for green cards and social security cards, or you can’t be said to have a sovereign country.

While deporting her would be a moral victory, Omar is by no means the only migrant with naturalized citizenship who needs to go.

The Trump administration has gotten a lot of flak, deserved or not, for not deporting enough illegal migrants quickly enough.

While it wouldn’t entirely make up for the dearth of deportations in some critics’ eyes, deporting the one person who arguably deserves it most, Ilhan Omar, who is allowed to serve in the United States Congress while stockpiling obscene wealth, totally unaccounted for by her salary for some reason, would go a long way to placating them.
