Isn’t this convenient?

According to the House Ways and Means Committee, the IRS has “lost” two years of emails belonging to former head of tax exempt organizations Lois Lerner. The IRS doesn’t have a record of her emails from January 2009 through April 2011, conveniently encompassing some of the same time when tea party groups were being targeted for extra scrutiny and possible criminal prosecution. The IRS says the loss of emails is due to a “computer crash” and claims emails from or to Lerner from the White House, Democratic members of Congress, the Treasury Department and Department of Justice cannot be located.

We can add obstruction of justice to the long list of crimes and misdemeanors committed by this administration.

Government backs up everything. Everything. They’ve probably got back-ups of your emails. This is the IRS we’re talking about here. If you can’t produce whatever record they want, they can turn the screws to you. It’s practically an administration of anal accountants. Yet we’re to believe that it just lost two years’ of emails to and from the central figure in the agency’s worst scandal?

The way to bet on this is that the administration stalled on turning over those emails long enough to locate them all and all copies of them and destroy all of them. If that’s what happened, that’s destruction of evidence.

Like Benghazi, a select committee is going to be necessary to get to the bottom of this. The IRS has not cooperated. The Democrats in Congress, some of whom may have been in on the targeting, have stonewalled the Republicans in Congress. If there was a deletion of the evidence as there appears to have been, multiple people would have to have known about it.

After doing some reading on this matter it seems all is not lost. Apparently all of LL's emails originating from her IRS account to the WH - Treasury - DOJ and other places were lost on the IRS's end. Those emails still live on those other computer systems. One can only wonder how long it'll take for it to dawn on the IT people in those places to wipe LL's emails from their systems. Issa should issue a subpoena immediately for those emails before they are also 'lost'.

Is there any doubt that we are now dealing with a criminal element that controls our government?

Criminal. Absolutely criminal.

WHEN did they lose them?

Because, they had to know that they were of importance for over a year now. WHEN did the "crash" take place??

Congress should seize the records and computers hard drives. A forensic analysis should be done.

Because the IRS was engaged in attacking the civil liberties of citizens, it was engaged in treason. It should be defunded until the destruction of evidence is reconciled. People should go to jail.

This is not "boys will be boys" politics. An attack on the people and the destruction of evidence is the highest offense. Why are our representatives not protecting the people? Defund treason. Now.

If a business did that, some executive would be going to jail. Felonious government.

This entire story is a load of hooey. I don't *care* if her desktop HD had a catastrophic failure - emails aren't kept on your PC. They're at the Server side. And those servers are backed up every day, that's standard across the IT industry, once the Network is over a certain size.

The government of the United States has become a criminal organization. There are several ways of countering this, beginning at the ballot box this November. If this fails (and I strongly suspect it will), then the entire citizenry of the United States MUST read the entire second paragraph of our Declaration of Independence, and act accordingly. No one in government obeys the Constitution any more. It's time for all of them, down to the GS-12 level, to be flushed, without retirement. If you currently work for the US Government and you're not screaming your head off to SOMEONE, you're a crook, or an accomplice. You'll deserve what you get.

The NSA ought to have them. Of course what would become of any subject of an IRS audit who claimed that a required receipt or other record was lost?

What's being overlooked here is the fact that two sets of "Rules of Law" exist: 1)one set for Washington DC and 2)another set for We The People. Period.
This has happened in every tin-horned dictatorship since time immemorial. Mr. Obama was absolutely correct when he said he would "transform" America - into a Marxist/Socialist economy. The IRS is but the tip of this "transformation."
There are many other elements in play leading towards complete decimation of USA's "Constitutional Republic!" These "elements" are perfectly visible to any discerning American taking the time to see the steam roller effect of "transformation" yet to take full effect on every American family, child and grandchild. If "refugees" are flocking to America's southern borders, when Americans become refugees where do "American refugees" flee to? Pray. Amen. God Bless America. Join a Tea Party, urgently "STOP" Open Borders propaganda in Latin America. Register to vote. Vote.

If? Heh. If? Yeah, right.

One would automatically assume this is akin to throwing gasoline on a lighted fire....KABOOM!! But, with this erectile dysfunctional 'opposition party', Old Yellowstain is actually hoping this is the end of it so he can try and push amnesty through again. He has run interference for the White Mosque since Fast and Furious. His lack of action will certainly further expand the reach and power of the burgeoning TEA Party; these rino's are as much an enemy as the neo-commies (dems). The time is right for a true conservative revival in America....is it too late?

Computer crash? Which computer? A computer crash doesn't delete email. Email should still exist on the server at both ends, all of the recipients PC's, and at the NSA. Also, do a recovery of her .pst file and the log files from the servers. These people obviously think we are idiots it's like their IT guys never heard of undelete, recuva, or any number of data recovery programs?

Absolutely right. To totally delete something from everywhere it's existed is a long and difficult task. To totally erase something from a hard drive requires multiple, deliberate actions, or it can be recovered. Simply "deleting" them won't do it.

If the IRS cannot produce the emails, let's ask the Russians or the Chinese or the Iranians. They probably all have them.

Offer Edward Snowden a gratuity for his copy of the emails.

And how convenient to have the press release sent on a Summer Friday afternoon. Why, by Monday, the MSM palace guard will try to spin the story that 2011 was so long ago.
I also sent emails to the IRS in the 2009-2011 time frame. I guess I really didn't owe those extra taxes. I'll wait right here beside the mailbox for my refund check.
