The US ambassador to Israel is flying the gay pride flag. Todd Starnes grabbed a pic of it from the embassy’s Facebook page.

“Proudly flying the colors,” Ambassador Dan Shapiro wrote on the embassy’s Facebook page. He posted a photograph showing a rainbow colored flag flying alongside the American flag outside the embassy in Tel Aviv.

“For the first time in history, the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv has raised the Pride flag together with our American flag,” Shapiro wrote. “We are proud to join with the municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo and its residents in celebrating LGBT Pride Week.”

So the Obama Administration publicly endorses and affirms the gay rights movement. Meanwhile, American military personnel are being ordered to remove Bibles from their desks and Bible verses from their walls — lest they be accused of publicly endorsing or affirming Christianity.

Some might call that a double-standard.

Since Starnes brought it up, there are about 247,000,000 million Christians in the United States, or about 77% of the country. But the Obama government is officially and openly repressing Christianity within the military.

I'm wondering way the Pride flag is hung below the US flag. I'm calling straight up homophobia.

Is it flying in Libya?

This flag has no official US status. It doesn't belong on the pole at any US installation overseas. And while Israel is far safer for people who are homosexual than any other country nearby, many Jews share the concerns of many Christians about homosexual activity.
Now, when we fly the MIA flag in Hanoi, I want to see that picture.

Kind of a double post -- web page being a little strange yet.

Why would we fly this flag at any embassy? It has no official status for the US. And Israel is far more welcoming to gays than anyone else in the region, but many Jews have the same concerns about homosexuality that Christians have.

Because the petty little ideologue squatting in the White House figures that he will probably piss off some religious Jews that way. And he probably will---though not nearly as many as he would if the embassy had been moved to Jerusalem, as has long been required by those "law" things that he routinely ignores. Tel Aviv is very homosexual-friendly; Jerusalem, far less so.

That said, it is not "concerns" that Jews and Christians have; they regard homosexual behavior as immoral, and oppose it on those grounds. "Homosexuality" is a pseudoscientific term from the late 19th century, barely as valid as the long-discredited pseudoscience of phrenology.

Iran executes gays. So why are we needlessly provoking Iran at a time we are supposed to be in delicate negotiations with them?

Call me when they fly it at the embassy in Cairo. Or Qatar. Or Libya.

Et cetera.
