Democrats in Congress have staunchly fought any and all attempts to get to the truth in the Benghazi attack. They have caused phony arguments in committee hearings — when they have even bothered to attend those hearings. They have decried the congressional investigations as “witch hunts.” They have criticized Republicans for mentioning Benghazi in their fund-raising emails.

Even though Democrats including President Obama use tragedies to raise money for themselves.

Now that House Speaker John Boehner has announced that a select committee will investigate Benghazi, the Democrats have come up with another strategy for stonewalling.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) laid out that strategy on Fox News. He is the ranking Democrat on the House Budget Committee.

In an interview with Fox’s Martha MacCallum, Van Hollen criticized any and all future investigations into Benghazi as illegitimate. But if there has to be an investigation, Van Hollen says Democrats should be granted something that the American people have not voted to give them.

MacCallum asked, “So let’s talk about the select committee for a moment because I do want to get your thoughts on whether or not you think your party should not participate. What do you think?”

Van Hollen accused Rep. Trey Gowdy of saying things that he has not said, such as that he already has a “smoking gun” on Benghazi. MacCallum pressed Van Hollen to back that up, and he could not. Van Hollen then said that Democrats, despite being in the minority in the House, should have an equal number of representatives on the select committee as Republicans.

“That’s why you have to have a fair process, Martha,” Van Hollen said,  ”And i think most people would agree that having an even number of Republicans and Democrats, that’s fair.”

MacCallum pointed out that the Watergate committee had a Democratic majority when it investigated a Republican president, because Democrats held the majority in the House at the time. Van Hollen laughed that off and again smeared Gowdy. Van Hollen said that Watergate could be investigated by a partisan-majority committee because “it included potential criminal wrongdoing.”

The Benghazi attack could potentially implicate officials in negligent homicide, for their refusal to improve security at the US facility at which four Americans died. The Benghazi investigation could also turn up who decided to blame the attack on a movie, why, and who had the man who made the movie arrested and jailed for a year.

Given their behavior on Benghazi to date, it’s a safe bet that giving Democrats an equal number of representatives on the select committee will ensure that it is unable to issue subpoenas or investigate the attack and the Obama administration’s actions thoroughly. They will use parity to block the committee at every turn. Sixty percent of the American people want Benghazi investigated.

I think your right on.

The rebirth of Benghazi is about distracting the base from two things... the return of amnesty, and the death of Obamacare repeal.

I mean, the recent touchy-feely hearings on Obamacare and the complete pass being given to Burwell as Sebelius' replacement are dead give-aways and would be a call to action, except they've been completely ignored because everybody's all a-twitter about Benghazi. It's the ultimate squirrel, and the R establishment is deploying it perfectly.

I think it's really quite simple.

Obama hates America and its power, and the transfer of that power to Israel in the form of financial and military support, and is willing to align with its enemies, and to redirect that support to them, and is engaged in a host of conspiratorial activities both domestically and abroad to weaken the USA and Israel anyway possible.
Nothing will shock me anymore. How many former (current?) MB operatives are now in the DHS at this point?

The Obama administration has been at war with America since the moment it was voted in. A lot of people are just too dumb, lazy or distracted to admit it.

There is something evil at the bottom of this pit.

As an old legal warhorse who uncovered dozens of fraudulent schemes...my antenna are raised by the smell of desperation and fear wafting from La Bozo Nostra.

There is a very, very desperate need to hide a dirty plot...and it has NOTHING to do with the red herring of "Obama not decimating al Qaeda".

It is deeper, uglier and more nefarious.

Pelosi and the dems KNOW what really happened at and around Benghazi and will do whatever they can to prevent that knowledge from becoming public. And, Reid claims that the good guys are obstructionists!
I'm betting that the real basis for the murder of the four Americans was money; money that was going to move to some influential dem(s) from the sale of either Lybian oil or weapons related to Syria. How hard would Pelosi work to save Gore or Soros or Holder from the front page?

I think Obama's motives should always be questioned. People who elected him were either poorly or not informed. Unfortunately, that is the trend among American voters. There seems to be little patriotism.....it's all a phony feeling. As one who was brought up to respect this country, it really sickens me. I am beginning to feel like the ancestors who have fought in every war did so only so more recent Americans can live higher on the hog. It's not a nice feeling! No one is owed a "South Seas" vacation or a salary with 7 figures.

M.O. - Modus Operandi for any sane, loyal, Progressive New Left Activist permeating all levels of existing American Federal Government echelons of Power Centers is to: 1)defend, 2)deflect, and 3)disinform the American People.
Having successfully implemented this tactic, the corollary to this is: dismiss the "messenger" as so much "tom-foolery." Thus, goes this PNLA novella, no need to even surface the "message." POOF! It just goes up in smoke. Case Closed.
A kangaroo Court, if one will. Spanish Inquisition is an also ran to this Democratic Socialist's of America cabal in America's US House of Representatives (that's Marxist/Leninist governance for those "of the great unwashed"). Simple. Jeez, saw that in Alinsky's book "Rules for Radicals," and Van Jones' mantra in his "STORM MANIFESTO" of "top down/bottom up and inside out." Commies just never give up on their time worn failures. Now, they have their sights set on America's Excellence and Capitalism. Pray. Amen. God Bless America. Join a local Tea party, urgently. Seek TRUTH!

Non sequitur?

There should be nothing but Democrats on the committee. After all, a criminal has a right to be judged by a jury of his peers, right Mr. Van Hollen? (You can use that free of charge with my compliments on your next TV appearance...)

Rep. Gowdy and Rep. Boehner have followed normal protocol and the committee is expected to have a Republican majority.

Easy, Mr Bonehea..., Bonesteel, it possible for some of us out here in everyday land to follow more than one idea a day. I was merely following the line of the article. Naive, I'm not. Nor do I fall for your 'Look, squirrel,' knee-jerkism. But, I'm so glad I have people like you who have a rejoinder for every occasion, even if it makes you look less than competent. Get lost in the trees, bounce from one crisis to another, much like our commander-in-chief and try to look intelligent.

I think there's more here than meets the eye. Likely gun-running to Al Qaeda or Muslim Brotherhood types. That they were caught lying or withholding documents is child's play. Everyone with half a loaf knows about that, it's standard operating procedure with this bunch. Benghazi secrets are far deeper and more sinister. Why was Stevens there in the first place? They are afraid, very afraid. Trey Gowdy is the perfect dog for this hunt.

I'm inclined to agree. The MSM has been for more vocal and strident in its defense of Obama than usual on this. Likewise the Dems in Congress. And Carney says the WH may not cooperate. There is something really big buried down in the steaming pile.
