You can’t make this stuff up.

This item is on the menu at the Deca restaurant tucked into the ritzy Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago.

Kindly direct your eyes to the line that reads “Aged Wisconsin Cheddar Infused With 24k Gold Flakes.”

They’re feeding gold in a $100 grilled cheese sandwich.

Obama adviser David Axelrod dined at the posh spot, while he was at the hotel to attend a meeting on — like I said, you can’t make this stuff up — “income inequality,” according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Also at the meeting, the Democracy Alliance. Jerry Rogers wrote up a piece exposing them earlier this week. The Democracy Alliance is a group of extremely wealthy left-wingers, connected to Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), that rails against the supposed evils of “income inequality.”

Watch for more of Reid’s patented attacks on the Koch brothers.

The democrats need to rename their political party. It should be called Animal Farm Alliance.

I don't care if they eat gold leaf and crap out ingots, but I do not care to be lectured about "income inequality" by people who have never known deprivation of any material sort. Or by anyone else, for that matter.

There is a German liquor called "Goldwasser" which has tiny bits of gold leaf in it. (Gold is so malleable that gold leaf can be made incredibly thin --- there is very little actual metal in there. And it's chemically basically inert, so does no harm.)
Still, pretty "cheesy" of them progs ;)

I'd seen stuff like gold-leaf covered almonds - where you can see the gold - back some years ago, but anyone who would infuse gold flakes into cheese ... I find that mighty hard to believe, that anyone would put enough into the cheese that they could ever be seen. But if the cheese is in a sandwich nobody is going to see the gold anyway.
