Pass my bill or Obama will just do whatever he wants.

“I believe that this president tempted will be tempted, if nothing happens in Congress, to issue an executive order as he did for the Dream Act kids a year ago, where he basically legalizes 11 million people by the sign of a pen,” Rubio said in an interview Tuesday on WFLA’s “The Morning Show with Preston Scott.”

If that were to happen, Rubio warned, Republicans would not get the provisions they have been fighting for in the immigration debate, such as billions of dollars to strengthen border security and a workplace “e-Verify” system to help ensure that employers do not hire undocumented workers.

“I have tried to come up as best as possible, given who controls the Senate, with a way to start the conversation to at least address some of these issues,” Rubio said. “It only gets worse as times goes on.”

So pass my conversation-starter or Obama will just do whatever he wants.

As a senator with a national name, Rubio could take the fight directly to Obama both to prevent a royal edict and to fight him afterward if Obama went ahead.

But instead, Rubio is taking the fight to his own base, with a threat.

Ridiculous. Florida may as well have elected Charlie Crist to that seat.

Surely he's joking? Obama is going to do whatever he want's to do whatever law is passed. We're in the Clown Era, and jokers rule.

Rubio just raised the white flag....cannot adequately articulate my disappointment in him at this time. Just....pathetic. Keep digging your grave, Senator (figuratively speaking of course), you're almost at the bottom. Give my regards to Senator McCain when you get there - with your middle finger.

It seems to have slipped your notice, Mr. Rubio, that Barry has pretty much been doing whatever he wants for the past 5 years. And with "senators" like you, odds are good he'll continue to do so.

No mention of impeachment if Obama tries to legalize 30 million trespassers.

Isn't that an Obama tactic, to threaten calamity if he doesn't get his way? And why the virtual acceptance and impotence about Oabama's propensity for violating the Constitution?

And why should I have to ask these obviously stupid questions?

You are correct. Why should Rubio call for some veneer of respectibility for the Sun King's actions? Congress could pass any immigration law today, and this administration would just enforce the parts they like, and ignore the parts they don't.
Force the clown administration to own the entire immigration issue. They'll choke on it.

Are we sure Mr. Rubio hasn't been taking RINO Lessons from John McCain?

Doesn't Rubio get how weak he sounds by this preemptive surrender? Or is this some sort of message to the base, that the Republican position is just too weak to stand up against that sort of ukase? Either way, I can't imagine that Rubio is seriously considering running for the nomination in 2016, not after this performance.

Rubio drank the hyphenated-American Kool Ade some time ago. He doesn't realize that it doesn't work for Republicans.

Rubio was happy to surf to victory on the 2010 Tea Party Tsunami but he has been paddling left ever since. Quite frankly I'm sick of the sour taste of Republican snake oil served up to woo the voters only to watch them lay down like stepping stones to help the progressives force march our country ever leftward. These republicans are not statesmen, they are not patriots, they are not constitutional or conservative.
