Democrat Rep. Jim McDermott (WA) offered up the “they had it coming” case in today’s hearing on IRS abuse of taxpayers based on their political beliefs.

The facts of the IRS abuse are, that the agency sneakily confessed that it happened and apologized for it, while lying that it was only the work of a couple of “rogue employees.” Even President Barack Obama allowed that the abuse was “outrageous,” as he fake-fired the acting IRS commissioner.

None of those facts make any difference at all to Jim McDermott.

McDERMOTT: As I listen to this discussion, I’d like to remind everyone what we’re talking about here. None of your organizations were kept from organizing, or silenced. We’re talking about whether or not the American taxpayers will subsidize your work. We’re talking about a tax break. If you didn’t come in and ask for this tax break, we would have never had a question to ask of you. You could go out there and say anything in the world. I get the feeling that many of you, and my Republican colleagues, just don’t believe — or believe you should be free not just from political targeting, but from any scrutiny at all.

Actually, the various threats of perjury that came with the IRS snooping did silence some groups. The expense and intrusiveness silenced some too.

Notice, by the way, McDermott’s use of the word “we” in this sentence.

If you didn’t come in and ask for this tax break, we would have never had a question to ask of you.

Who’s “we” in this context? Did McDermott just confess to something?

McDermott's attitude is far too prevalent on that side of the aisle.

I've been a law abiding citizen of this great country for 60 years, but I am beginning to think its time for a new kind of political party - a party involving pitchforks, bon fires, boiling tar and feathers. Jackasses like McDermott should be the first guests of honor.

McDermott forgets one of the primary rules of Contract Law.
(and The Constitution is a contract)
Any, repeat Any, quandry must be in favor of those who are benefitting from the contract. That'd be you and me .
So, why do dinks like this go off on tangents, blather so incessantly, and obfuscate like tomorrow is not coming ? In this case, he's about 6 inches away from saying [metaphorically] rape occurs because of current fashion. [and Girly Body Parts being provocatively revealed]
"You had it coming' is just not gonna' cut it, JimBo.
...but you keep on talking and digging that hole.
Tell us when you find what you're looking for.............

I sense in the Dems' responses today a new directive from the WH: let loose the dogs of hell and blame the victims. Panic seems to be setting in as the long, gnarled fingers of exposure and doom come a-knock, knock, knocking at the Oval Office door.

Oh I do really, really hope other Dems. take the same line as McDimwit! It will definitely resonate with the American people, or at least those who bothered listening to the opening statements of these citizens victimized by their own government!

Nah, Johnny. You give the American people too much credit. The low-info crowd will buy this hook, line and sinker. What? Those one-percenter teabaggeres were getting tax credits for their racist campaign activities??? Once the MSM starts implying that (as false as it is), that'll be the end of any "resonating" with them.

This from one of the most useless of the Washington State delegation. His home turf is Seattle - that alone should tell you about all you need to know. Since that first election in 1988 Seattle has sent this good-for-nothing bum back to DC - to do nothing. He's seldom presented any legislation - seldom backs any - and seems to like traveling to the trouble spots in the world. Like when he went to Iraq before Bush ordered the invasion. Saddam paid for that trip! Of course 'Baghdad Jim' didn't know that ---- riiiiiight!

Today’s Tax Code of some 87,000+ pages is used to extort from Americans, their hard earned incomes for Governments following goals:1)PORK, 2)subsidies, 3)loop holes, 4)union pensions, 5)political repression, 6)entitlements for an undeserving swath of individuals,7)dubious government “pet projects” (Planned Parenthood, NPR, GM, etc.) et al. The list of government largesse is extensive and very, very long.
When President Lincoln first enacted the Revenue Act on August 5, 1861, it was for ONE SINGLE PURPOSE…pay for the Civil War. Only one item of expenditures…think of this!
Later, in 1871, Congress repealed this Act. YES! Congress, in 1909, in their infinite wisdom, permanently instituted a national Income Tax(snide remark!). This was ratified in 1913 by then President Woodrow Wilson(arch Progressive). This cancer has morphed into an IRS 100,000+ employee agency holding “jack-booted” control over EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN.
Remember always, even back in the 1800′s, the US Supreme Court said such a national income tax was unconstitutional.
It’s a curious thing, the very first single page form (1913) could NOT be filled out by average Americans. Today, average Americans desist in doing the same…filling out their own Tax Return Forms. In conclusion, what started out in 1861 as a ONE SINGLE PURPOSE national Income Tax has morphed into a 21st Century empire of paper, rules, regulations and tribulations incomprehensible, unjust, and totally oppressive…in other words a tyrannical arm of a highly centralized , command and control type of government (and one might say, totally out of control, to boot). F-L-A-T-T-A-X OF 15% repeal the 16th amendment and abolish the IRS…Today!!!Pray. Amen. (remember:Fair Tax, is IRS-lite) God Bless America. This insanity has to, MUST, stop today! 6/4/2013, 6 brave patriots went before a Congressional Committee to quietly, in steadied voice, expose their grievances to a “We The Elite People of culture of corruption in ALL of Washington DC!” These 6 are true patriots. Join your local Tea Party. A silent revolution is underway! We The People will take back our: Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness as guaranteed by Our Creator.
