The Environmental Protection Agency stands accused today of showing favoritism toward liberal groups over conservative groups.

Conservative groups seeking information from the Environmental Protection Agency have been routinely hindered by fees normally waived for media and watchdog groups, while fees for more than 90 percent of requests from green groups were waived, according to requests reviewed by the Conservative Enterprise Institute.

CEI reviewed Freedom of Information Act requests sent between January 2012 and this spring from several environmental groups friendly to the EPA’s mission, and several conservative groups, to see how equally the agency applies its fee waiver policy for media and watchdog groups. Government agencies are supposed to waive fees for groups disseminating information for public benefit.

For 92 percent of requests from green groups, the EPA cooperated by waiving fees for the information. Those requests came from the Natural Resources Defense Council, EarthJustice, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, The Waterkeeper Alliance, Greenpeace, Southern Environmental Law Center and the Center for Biological Diversity.

Of the requests that were denied, the EPA said the group either didn’t respond to requests for justification of a waiver, or didn’t express intent to disseminate the information to the general public, according to documents obtained by The Washington Examiner.  CEI, on the other hand, had its requests denied 93 percent of the time. One request was denied because CEI failed to express its intent to disseminate the information to the general public. The rest were denied because the agency said CEI “failed to demonstrate that the release of the information requested significantly increases the public understanding of government operations or activities.” Similarly, requests from conservative groups Judicial Watch and National Center for Public Policy Research were approved half the time, and all requests from Franklin Center and the Institute for Energy Research were denied.

This kind of favoritism springs from a worldview. The EPA that authored this bias was the same EPA led by Lisa Jackson. She left office last year amid her own scandal involving the use of personal, secret email accounts to conduct agency business — the “Richard Windsor” scandal.

It’s time to ask a serious question. In light of the IRS targeting conservatives and the EPA denying conservatives at the same time, do liberals even believe that conservatives are due fair treatment under the law?

Considering how often they call for us to be rounded up/ shot/ exiled/ imprisoned or what have you I think the obvious answer is "no".

I've know for years about the EPA bias toward the communist enviro-whacko clubs like NRDC. Hell, what do you expect? More than half of EPA's staff belong or have belonged to one of them. Most couldn't make a living in any job that required accountability and productivity.

That house is too full of roaches to save. Defund it, fire every one them, and start over with engineers and scientists from the private sector who have real world experience. Keep the numbers about half what they are now and pay enough to get quality people.

Actually, they don't even believe that conservatives are human beings entitled to the protections of the law. Sorta the same status Jews had in Germany in the '30s and '40s.

Soviet---Please refer to "The Gulag Archipelago" by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn for the Amerikan Lefts guide book of conquest. Mr. Lenin and then Mr. Stalin paved the way to true terrorism as a control of a population. Mr. Hitler was an amateur by comparative analysis. An amateur.

The stage is set for a repeat here in the USA of what the 'Archipelago' so well describes. A must read indeed for anyone who wants to learn from history. Very bad history it was.

I would recommend other works but if you can digest all volumes of 'Archipelago' you will no longer wonder what may happen in the near future here.

At no other time in history have bureaucracies of a nation focused their energies towards political ends, ignoring their main missions - the IRS caught using it's powers to gather sensitive information about conservative groups and disseminating that information to campaign functionaries of the left - the EPA (useless beyond description) playing fast and loose with FOIA requests - DOJ grabs phone records in what Holder calls 'the most serious leak I've ever seen' - yet passes the buck and blames underlings in an attempt to save his own ass - and who let 4 people die in Benghazi with that stand-down order?

And to top it all off - Feckless Won doesn't know a thing about any of this. Do you believe that?

At no other time in history have bureaucracies of a nation...

Oh - wait - there was that little 1000 year Reich thingy in the 1930's wasn't there? Parallels in history friends. Fail to study and heed history and you'll end up repeating it.

Feels like Deja Vu 'all over again' doesn't it?

If we don't stop these criminals that are running our country - and SOON! we'll all have cattle cars in our future.

EPA, IRS, HHS, the White House itself - what I'm seeing is a wanton and widespread abuse of power.

Conservatives believe liberals are wrong, mistaken, maybe even mentally ill.

Liberals believe conservatives are EVIL INCARNATE.

So no, liberals do NOT Feel bad about how conservatives are treated.

Would you feel bad for abusing the devil himself?

That's how liberals see it. They believe Conservatives are evil, that conservatives are truly out to destroy the world and therefore the ends justify anything.

Of course, they don't. Obama and Eric Holder have killed the Rule of Law in this country. Because of that, the Federal government, under Obama, has no more legitimacy than did the Stalinist regime in the old Soviet Union. No thinking person trusts the Federal government, and rightly so. The Liberals are using the coercive power of the Federal government to harass and punish anyone who has different political beliefs.

Unfortunately for many the answer is 'no' from my own experience with them. That's why I prefer using the capital 'L' Liberal as it's now merely a proper noun name for a group rather (like being called 'Joe') than the small 'l' one which implies a connection to the actualy word and its meaning.

Five scandals. That of course is a listing of this wave of revelations in the past couple of weeks. All the other scandals? Well . . . .

Of course, if several of these currently-surfaced scandals gain traction, a lot more people may start recalling and paying attention to all those other scandals. Or unicorns may sprout wings and fly.

Only if slavery and equality are synonymous in legal writ.

Equal treatment under the law . . . NOT!

1346 painful days left in this administration.
