As Chicago drowns in its own blood, Alderman Joe Moreno said that he’s “tired” of the debate about what infringes on the Second Amendment because “we already do.” According to Rebel Pundit on Breitbart, he wrote today that:
…Chicago Alderman Joe “Proco” Moreno argued in favor of an assault weapons ban with Fox Business’s Melissa Francis. After Francis suggested an assault weapons ban might not actually curb violence and that it leads down a slippery slope that infringes on the Second Amendment, Moreno dismissed the objection.
“I so, I get so tired of that trite saying,” he said. “That’s the problem. You say that why are we going to infringe on the second amendment? Well, we already do.”
As Rebel Pundit mentioned in his post, Moreno is the city official who used “aldermanic privilege” to stop Chick-fil-A’s expansion in the city. This was during the fury over Chick-fil-A’s COO and President Dan Cathy, who articulated his pro-traditional marriage views in an interview. It was good for Moreno – and the Chicago left – not only because they received national attention, but also because it proved that when it comes to choosing between fighting real crime or chicken sandwiches – the latter is always easier. Nevertheless, Moreno has allowed Chick-fil-A to open up a store in his ward.
Chicago had an astronomical homicide rate in 2012, and it also has some of the most stringent anti-gun laws on the books. Currently, the city’s 2013 homicide rate is exceeding last year’s in the first week. The Huffington Post noted this development. However, I’m sure Mr. Moreno can sleep soundly knowing he (kinda) defeated chicken sandwiches, Chicago-style.

I’ve said it before, but a Second Amendment Civil Rights Act needs to be passed, and just like in the 60s, those Democratic areas that just can’t stop infringing on American civil rights will need to get pre-clearance of laws before they can enact them.
Liking, liking…
“You say that why are we going to infringe on the second amendment? Well, we already do.”
How’s that working out for you, Chicago? Peaceful city? No gun crime? Ever stop to look around? Hmmm, one of the murder capitals of the US, year after year.
How many of our recent ‘massacres’ occurred in gun-free zones? Ever try and figure out why? It can’t be too hard a thought process, can it?
How does restriction on the law-abiding restrict the lawless? Chicago has the answer – it doesn’t. See again the amount of lawless gun use in Chicago. What’s the body count so far this year? 22 and rising? Congratulations, you’re Number 1!
Oh, hey, I forgot – more Americans died from guns in Chicago last year than in Afghanistan. Aren’t we fighting a war there – I mean, in Afghanistan? Whassup, Chicago? War zone?
Alderthief “Procto” Morono is another reason the Chicago city council should be prosecuted under the Rico act. The city council has a lot more per capita felons than the general population, and they are allowed to carry concealed weapons!
