It’s clear long time Democratic Party pollster Pat Caddell has had it with mainstream media suppression of Benghazi in this excerpt from the Jeanine Pirro on Fox Saturday night. (Caddell comes in at 1:15 after Ann Coulter).
Juicy bit: I am appalled right now.
This White House, this President, this Vice President, this Secretary of State, all of them, are willing, apparently, to dishonor themselves and this country for the cheap prospect of getting reelected — willing to coverup and lie.
And the worst thing is the very people who are supposed to protect the American people and the truth, the leading mainstream media, and I said in a speech a week ago — because I’m stunned. I’ve never seen in an issue of national security like this, but I will tell you this, I said it then they have become a threat, a fundamental threat to American democracy and then enemies of the American people.
Everyone in America is a “Victim of the Press”.

Still, if real help was even that many hours away, there was already a massive failure.
And we still have the awful possibility that at least the Specter was already there, and possibly from a secret domestic base that might have also hosted more special forces closer in, or that there were naval assets closer than Sigonella.
The longer the story-shuffling and lying continues, the more it seems likely that these worst cases are actually true.
Even if Stevens was killed in the first five minutes (as we still do not know), even if eventually most of the Americans present *were* saved, then there were failures that these lies would seem in service of.
I watched the video earlier, and the emotion in Pat Caddel’s voice is stunning. I hope many other Americans listen to this video.
His speech at the AIM conference is even more stunning. His emotion brings to mind a clip of Nixon’s speech writer Ben Stein talking a few years ago about Watergate and how betrayed he felt by Nixon. He was still very emotional about it.
This of course is far more serious and has profound ramifications for all of us as Caddell points out particularly in the AIM speech. He is a brave man to speak out this way since we all know what happens to liberals who go against the grain.
The true indictment of the “Democrat Party” is…where are the rest of them? Is there not one democrat left in America that is an honest, patriotic person willing to step up and expose their despicable antics to the public? It appears, at this time, that they truly are simply a crime organization masquerading as a political party manipulating a crowd of useful but weak-minded idiots. Sad but true.

To these people (the administration), the prospect of getting reelected isn’t cheapened by covering up & lying; it’s enhanced. Typical of the liberal mindset, the means of achieving the ends of getting reelected are irrelevant, cheapened or not, and do not have to be justified. Since they are striving for the greater good (Obamacare; saving the auto industry; green-ification; more people on welfare, disability & unemployment, et al), the ends of reelection are all that matter.
He is not a Democrat’s Democrat. It takes about a 5 second Google search to see he takes Republican positions on just about everything and is a Dem in name only.

This perfectly describes the GOP, who have stood by in near total silence over the past several decades, as the MSM becomes more and more blatantly partisan. Their refusak to publicly make a fuss over the fact that the MSM has become a propaganda arm of the Democrat party is the main reason why this madness continues.
If the late, great Andrew Breitbart, or someone like him, were head of the RNC, he’d set these idiots straight. He’d be sending daily updates from “Newsbusters” and “Media Research Center” to the email box of every single GOP elected official at the local, state and national level, and imploring them to read this stuff. He’d be screaming at prominent Republicans to use every interview they do on Meet The Press, Face the Nation, Nightline, etc, etc, as an opportunity to put these talking heads on the defensive, and point out what naked shills they are.
Instead, we have GOP politicians doing guest spots on Hannity and saying crap like “thanks Sean, for all that you do for us”. Yeah, thanks Sean, for doing all the dirty work while we keep our fingernails clean and manicured. COWARDS!
Personally, if I ever saw the likes of Brian Williams, or Stephy the Greek midget rat, or Perky Katie on the streets of Manhattan (I live in NY), I’d most likely get myself arrested in an attempt to knock their teeth out. And yeah, I wouldn’t hesitate to punch a woman who is engaged in heinous propaganda.
By the way, Roger, if you happen to read this, you ought to write a piece questioning why all these Jewish Obama supporters, from Barbara Boxer to Sara Silverman, aren’t calling for the release of the Khalidi tape. Shouldn’t they be the first people who would want to see it, in order to prove that Obama was the one guy who stuck up for Israel that night?
If assets were overhead Benghazi, here is the best case scenario for the administration–based upon Cairo, they genuinely thought Benghazi was a street demonstration about the video, one gone violent, and felt sympathy for the Muslims over the video and did not wish to open fire into the crowd.
Upshot being, Muslims are being granted sharia rights by the Pentagon. If we offend you, we understand your anger. Try not to kill to many of us before you calm down.
I said “best case”. I did not say “good case”. We are being entirely too solicitous of the Muslim world and its time for a little hammering.
And if this is true–and it fits some of the facts–that at least some in the decision chain held fire because they actually believed the spin about the video–then it is a clear sign that political correctness, presumptions of “Western need to feel guilt”, and solicitude towards minorities have reached their logical end point.
If military commanders refused to open fire because they thought the Libyans had some kind of legitimate moral grievance and it was all just a sad tragic affair that they weren’t going to add to then they need to be broken in disgrace. The pols will get theirs, eventually.
The other case is that they knew it wasn’t about the video, but thought it would become about the video, and tried to control the public relations fallout by not letting the Muslm world think we both shoot videos that offend you and then kill you when you react. A cold-blooded decision.
Yeah, I feel a *lot* safer with Team Obama and the Pentagon on the scene. As long as I’m not in harm’s way, that is. Then I know you’re….what’s that phrase? Oh yeah–”on your own”.
I will also say that if any of this is true and the President was involved, then he *will* be impeached if reelected, and I promise you the public mood on this is not going to be Bill Clinton, 1998, but Gray Davis, 2003. The Senate might balk, but there will be 50+% of the public in favor.
Impeached after he’s re-elected? Get the fire hose ready! I recall George Bush Sr. imbedding this “anarchy is our right” mentality into the “community” during the Rodney King riots and 50 something innocent folks had been killed, so with great wisdom, he begged them to stop rioting and he would send them money. I am also going to have to say that there is another possibility for one of the actions of that sad night–the lazing of a target might have been asked not to designate for a strike, but so that someone safely in sitting in a chair hundreds or thousands of miles away, drinking coffee and staring at a monitor, could decide whether the guys in the ground were overreacting or not in their descriptions of the threat, and needed sensor cueing in order to do so.
That someone wanted certitude and had a guy risk his life to get it. And still did nothing.
