An intelligence source on the ground in Libya told Fox News that no threat assessment was conducted before U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team began “taking up residence” at the Benghazi compound — describing the security lapses as a “total failure.”
The claim comes more than two weeks after Stevens and three other Americans were killed in what is now being described officially as a terror attack possibly tied to Al Qaeda.
The source told Fox News that there was no real security equipment installed in the villas on the compound except for a few video cameras.
On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the worst, the intelligence source said the security lapses were a 10 — a “total failure” because Benghazi was known to be a major area for extremist activity.
The US State Department failed to assess the threat to its personnel in a terrorist hotbed. President Barack Obama was not even attending his daily intelligence briefings in the days leading up to the attacks. Four Americans are dead. The presidential election is mere weeks away.
That’s enough of a motivation to engineer a cover-up.
Sobering to think Obama/Clinton can be so street-dumb, yet place such blind faith that the MSM will cover for every single blunder no matter how damaging to the US as a whole. This is cult behavior by both the Dems and the MSM.
Forgive my paranoia, but a man reported to be a very effective diplomat,
largely responsible for producing a (relative) improvement in Libya just
happens to be sent into a kill zone ?
I’m Barack Obama and whatever went wrong was someone elses fault.
Out of curiosity, how much of a threat assessment would it take to figure out that Libya is a very dangerous place, and that our people there need serious security?
Even before the atrocity, would any of Mr. Preston’s readers have ventured there without a lot of thought and preparation?
Sounds like they just wanted Stevens dead.
How about this idea? Stevens was sacrificed accidentally.
The Obama Administration anticipated assaults on the Embassy or Consulate in Benghazi, because they were forewarned by Libyan authorities, as well as by Stevens, himself. They thought this might give Obama an opportunity to “flex” American military muscle and appear “Presidential.”
They never dreamed the assault on the Consulate would go as far as it did…

Wanted Stevens dead?! This could only be the work of one of the rival guilds from Eve! But who would want the VileRat dead?
It is real easy to describe the diplomatic, national security and domestic failings of the Bolshevik-in-Chief, but his administration has had one real, tangible success:

The real scandal is Obama’s Attorney General Eric-bo Holder preventing the FBI from going to Benghazi yet using the “ongoing investigation” to deny any inquiries into the terrorist attack.
