Look, I would normally hate to do three posts in a row, but this really is an outrage.
I think his offhand comment tonight on 60 minutes that the issues between Iran and Israel are “just noise”, is far worse.
However, in both cases, what I hear is his very partial understanding of rather more sophisticated talk (or at least they think it is) that goes on with his cabinet and national security people. They belittle it in private, meaning to be clever amongst friends and in context maybe it works, and Obambus, having almost no idea what is job is supposed to entail, belittles it in public, out of context and necessarily subject to uncharitable interpretations on all sides.
Naive President Obama.
More peaceful and more prosperous? Lay off the drugs Obama. They just declared WAR on us by killing our Ambassador. There’s no, “Oops, we totally didn’t mean to off your guy and start a war,” when dealing in foreign policy. If you let them skate by on this, it will be the beginning of a massive Islamic rally the likes of which hasn’t been seen since the Crusades.
Rank amateur/student pilot.
First time that I hear a tomb, the tomb of our Ambassador (and of the other American Officers), called a “bump”.
He’s doing a rather complete job of reducing American influence: Debasing the office of the president, bankrupting the country, ham stringing the economy, compromising justice, offending allies, empowering enemies, destabilizing global relations. Seems like his plan is working.
Was there NO ONE on the staff to come up with a better phrase than “bump in the road?”
Did he think he was going to go on Univision and CBS, and NOT get asked a question about the Ambassadors’s murder?
Here’s a guy who honestly believes that the country would be better off if he gave more speeches. Dear Leader, if you don’t know what the heck you are talking about, then please just SHUT UP.
FLASHBACK Rumsfeld 2005:
“War is a tough, difficult, dirty business… We have to recognize that it’s a tough, tough, tough world, and there are going to be bumps in the road between now and then,” he said.
