Original Version of the New ‘Obama Flag’ Design

The Obama campaign has just released a new design for the American flag (seen here on the right), and already it has drawn howls of outrage and mockery.
Some have keenly noted that the stripes on the new Obama flag look almost exactly like the smeared bloody handprints left by injured American embassy workers during the recent fatal attack in Libya. Others have commented on the breathtaking level of narcissism required to even ponder such an egotistical campaign gimmick.
Turns out the new Obama flag design was adapted from a somewhat larger artwork — and luckily, I managed to track down the original, which appeared in a faded poster for an old horror film:

I love how the Right use imagery and propaganda to literally buy this country. You gotta love America. I also love all the non millionaire puppets in the Republican party because that is what you all are – useful puppets for the Republicans that are actually millionaires or billionaires. This phenomenon puzzles me on my commute every day, and here we see yet another example.
Nice cars, I mean really nice cars (high-end luxury cars, Lambos, Ferarris, etc.), and the drivers are tailgating, zooming up to catch up to slow traffic, or even red lights, and otherwise exhibiting unmistakable signs of not being able to process data rationally and correctly.

Rob, the real response is to create a new government program (on top of the others that peripherally address this/such as Obamacare, unless of course the IPAB decides the driver is too old and the math doesn’t work). The new bureau is to set up and deploy vast amounts of Adderall to those drivers (free of charge of course….see Sandra Fluck). They are not responsible for their actions, they suffer from ADD. I can honestly tell all of you that Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his grave right now. The Republican Party was a well respected party during his time and I was once a Republican but now, we have been replaced by a movement like the Tea Party that is deplorable. Compassionate conservatism has completely left the door and now, with Citizens United, it’s all about how to buy the country and enslave the masses. What is more disturbing than Obama’s narcissistic, flag? There is one of Romney also. I do not know if Romney’s campaign has made it, as Obama’s own campaign has authorized his, but the fact that candidates and their supporters are equating the individual with the country is not a good sign of civic virtue. The power of government itself needs to be seriously diminished; otherwise, people will continue to confuse the chief executive under a constitutionally limited government with the emperor of all things.

Nine stripes? Hard to imagine what they would have on their mind, BESIDES bloody hand-prints.
Actually… okay, there’s one other reason, now that I think about it. The stripes are for the 13 colonies, right? In 2008, the areas that broke for McCain and which were in the original 13 colonies were (I looked it up to be sure): Kentucky, West Virginia (originally part of the Virginia colony), North Carolina and Tennessee (originally part of North Carolina), South Carolina (a colony unto itself), and Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi (colony of Georgia). And if you remove the four original colonies that broke … at least in part… into states that voted against Obama in 2008, voila, you get 13-4=9.
‘Course, Obama IS president of the “57 states”, so one final possibility is that they just can’t count.
Any way you slice it, it’s sure appropriate to Mr. “Yes-I’m-bipartisan-now-shut-up-I-won”. Especially given the “bloody handprints” photo and its recent notoriety. Let’s face it… it’s not like he’s been pretending very hard to be on our side up to this point. Why start now?

The first thing I noticed about the “flag” was that there wasn’t 13 stripes. Then I remembered the origins of this flag and am ironically amused that even the Chinese can actually get 13 stripes on our flags when they make them.

Redistribution is a stupid idea of course, but even if you could take all the wealth and distribute it equally, how much would a loaf of bread cost? Not only that, within the short time the losers would lose it all and the successful before would be successful again.
You’re assuming that bread would even be available. To quote a line frequently used on lawyer shows, “You are assuming facts not in evidence.”
If you look at the historical precedents, like the Soviet Union, you will see that bread was soon scarce at any price, as was almost everything else. People would see lineups on the street and get into the line without knowing what the product being sold was. When they got to the front of the line, if the product hadn’t sold out – which was a big IF – they’d usually buy it even if they didn’t need it so that they could barter it for stuff they did need.
Given that Marx is apparently Obama’s inspiration, you should prepare yourself for an economy that works much like the one created by Lenin and Stalin….

Did you see the one posted on FB yesterday (can’t remember which political cartoon artist made it).. In place of the Obama Logo in the top left he had an Empty Chair.. Each stripe had a “label” ..Unemployment, Failed Foreign Policies, etc.. Right now I can’t remember them all but the flag was GREAT.. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the Emperor to use it in place of the piece of crap he’s peddling now though.

This “flag” isn’t his first attempt. He created a flag earlier that was the real flag but removed the stars and put his face in that box. The veterans and other groups were so outraged that his campaign were forced to take the flag down. Do a google image search for Obama Flag.. I’m sure you’ll find it. Old Glory with Odumbo’s face plastered on it.
It really is interesting that they have five red lines instead of the seven. It is a deliberate change. Of course, blood trails from clawing fingers would be denied as the motivation, but subconsciously perhaps (or just another bad omen)? There are so many bad symbols and omens from this administration and it’s supporters that seem to indicate what they really are. One, for example, was when Obama went to a Nationals game and was wearing a Nationals cap. When he went out to throw the first pitch he changed it to a black White Sox cap.
I would think the number of stripes is to help keep such an image from being illegal. As in, it’s not an actual flag but an artist’s rendition.

Well, there’s some good news some people are not recognizing here.
First, this flag conserves energy. You only need one finger to salute it.
Second, this is something you would be proud to admit “You didn’t build that”
And lastly, The Barack the Ripper claw marks can be stamped on your paycheck, credit card bills, utility bills, grocery store receipts, gas station receipts, every time you pay for his “redistribution” of your money. Just so you never forget the intention.

I was under the impression that there were fedral laws to prohibit this exact destructive re-design of the US flag. Punishable by a fine and jail time for the originator of the said flage, the people who fly them and or wear them. If I remeber correctly, duing the Veitnam war people were arrested for buring the US flag. Some went to jail. Isn’t this a similar destruction of our flag?
It is a very appropriate banner for him… first of all, it is on a field of white which symbolizes surrender. The Obama logo stands for an unchecked ego. The red streaks for the blood spilled due to his policies (or lack thereof).
Reminiscent of one, yes, but — not to sound as if I don’t detest obama and want him out of the White House in January — that’s really not an American flag.
(I didn’t intend for this to have any specific appeal for birthers, but the way I ended up wording it, it might.)

With the exception of regulars, this column certainly “dumbed down” today.
I’d like to add a pop-cultural footnote here because “Be afraid, be very afraid” has lasted for so long, it deserves to be credited. It was the logo line from the ad for the disappointing sequel to David Cronenberg’s terrific 1986 remake of “The Fly.” And on the “Fly II” ad’s audio track, you heard the sound of a baby crying gradually morph into the buzzing roar of swarming flies. The ad was much scarier than the flat-footed movie it promoted; and that inspired bit of dialogue certainly has become a cultural touchstone.
You are too angry to be successful. One doesn’t get this sour when one is productive and successful nor does one ever envy the success of others, like millionaires and billionaires. Envy is not a natural emotion. I think some introspection is in order for you. Good luck. Get well.
