In the latest “Lean Forward” ad from MSNBC, news anchor Andrea Mitchell offers her opinion of election fraud: She’s for it.

“I think it’s a real scandal that political parties and interest groups are trying to prevent people from voting. We should just want as many people as possible to vote. However it…falls, whichever political party benefits from it. The fact is, when the American people are engaged, they will make intelligent choices,” Mitchell says in the network ad. She hosts Andrea Mitchell Reports weeknights on MSNBC.
In the opening sentence of the ad, Mitchell is talking about voter ID laws that are being passed in state legislatures all across the country, using a leftist dog whistle to signal her displeasure with those laws. Despite the left’s mischaracterization of voter ID laws as “suppression,” studies have found that voting rates do not decrease after ID laws are implemented. Voter ID laws enjoy strong majority support across US demographics. Mitchell is siding with leftwing groups that slur voter ID laws as “suppression.”
In the second sentence, Mitchell makes no distinction between eligible voters and those who are ineligible to vote — “as many people as possible,” given the state of voter rolls nationwide, and the insecurity of our methods to weed out ineligible people from voting, is a call to let the dead, felons, illegal aliens etc vote without regard to whether they are allowed by law to vote (or breathing). Why not just let the entire world and everyone who has ever lived vote in US elections? Perhaps John Kerry could pick up the Jenghis Khan vote.
Mitchell’s third sentence is an obvious pander, tacked on to end the ad on a positive note. It’s possible to be “engaged” and still be an idiot who makes poor choices. Mitchell is evidence of someone who is engaged, but dishonest regarding the facts.

Once again the Left does it’s best to turn back the clocks and pretend that it’s the ’60s again. They’ve tried for the past three years to create the impression that the Tea Party is the new Klan and failed. This is a variation on that. Now we’re being told by Andrea Mitchell that we’ve returned to the days before the Voting Rights Act and that people are being denied the vote. Of course it’s ridiculous but they apparently just can’t help themselves. They want it to be the 1960s again so badly that it hurts. So they try to recreate the rallies and marches and the issues of 50-60 years ago. The flaw in their silly plans? That was last century. It’s 2012; it’s still the economy and we’re not stupid!
The Dem Party has not failed in their own minds to portray the Tea Party as racist – to them it’s case closed. Mitchell’ concerns are an obvious reflection of that fact. Rather than actually thinking this whole thing through, she simply zips to the end on the thinnest of evidence because she already “knows” it’s a racist code conspiracy. Why think about something when you already have the answer? This is why the GOP is said to talk in so much “code” – the Left can’t actually show any signs of overarching racism in the conservative Right – they simply assume it and move on. It is why the average IQ of a liberal, in experiential terms, must be close to that of an extremely clever monkey. Is there racism in the GOP? Sure. There’s racism anywhere. The sad fact is that a liberal has no idea of what the word anecdotal means or how to apply it. If they did, they’d have to demand the ouster of the Congressional Black Caucus who speak racism that employs no code whatsoever – they are brutally up front about it. The entirety of the Dem Party is verging close to being a hate group. They openly deride the GOP as old white men, as if that is a racial crime.
The view of democracy from an ardent Castro fan. Gag me.
“Mitchell is evidence of someone who is engaged, but dishonest regarding the facts.”
Engaged as in corrupt? You sure she’s not from Chicago?
Time for someone to vote in Mitchell’s place!
Hey, PJ Media, just wondering. You guys are experts about ex-hippies/communists. Where did Andrea come from? Was she all for peace and love and flower-power — and, oh, the oppression! — in her youthful days?
Can’t wait for these ex-hippies (sorry, the unrepentant ones) to die off. The Most Self-Destructive Generation — evah!
When you’re a Leftist, you’re as pure as driven snow (not). Thus anything you advocate that helps the Left is, ipso facto, motivated only by the purest of motives (not). So when she says: ” We should just want as many people as possible to vote,” what she means is that the voters can be dead, can vote multiple times or can be impersonating somebody else. All that is for the good cause of the Left and it is OK. (Anybody who might vote against the Left can be chased off by the Black Panthers, and that is also OK.)
“Whichever party benefits from it”@00:12? Really? Any clue which party that might be. Take a guess?
Voter fraud is now accepted by our bettors in the MFM, and they KNOW who will benefit. Let’s be honest, if this were to benefit Repubs, they would be all for VID. Quit forcing your agenda, and report the damn news. Period.
I’m still waiting to hear a credible reason why/how voter ID laws actually disenfranchise people.
If it is because they are too dumb to get some kind of official ID, apart from being unbelievably discriminatory and downright condescending, it also says that those people cannot cash a check, buy liquor and cigarettes, cannot get on an airplane, cannot enter a bar and so many other places.
Each fraudulent vote actually disenfranchises a legitimate voter by nullifying their vote. This amounts to far, far more disenfranchisement than the few who somehow might actually not be able to get the required ID (which I still think is so remote that it is really ZERO).
I’m with you, LukeJohn, this assumption that voter i.d. laws “disproportionately” affect the voting rights of minorities means but one thing: they don’t have a very high opinion of minorities.
Why is this not considered providing un-reported campaign contributions to the Democratic Party?
And fined heavily?
As this denial by progressives goes on and on, one cannot help but come to believe it is a mental condition which prevents them from hearing the message. The goal here is to keep people from voting ILLEGALLY. Perhaps it is some form of attention deficit disorder which shuts down listening after a certain number of words in a phrase.
Bryan, small problem with the title?
Andrea Mitchell SAYS Voter ID Laws are a Scandal. There’s no evidence she actually thinks.
Fair point.
“…The fact is, when the American people are engaged, they will make intelligent choices…”
People just sauntering to vote for the hell of it is pretty much the opposite of that idea. Or did she not hear the woman screaming, “I’m here for my Obama money!”?
The stupid is strong with this one.
“Mitchell makes no distinction between eligible voters and those who are ineligible to vote —”
That’s also her citeria for Presidential Candidates!
