High gas prices to blame? I’m not so sure.
What’s happened in the past week? One, we’ve seen what looks like the start of an early gas price spike, at a time when the president is visibly militating against the XL Pipeline. A majority supports building the XL, rightly seeing it as one of many things we need to do as a nation to stabilize our fuel source. To the extent that the public is aware that Obama’s spurning of the Canadian deal has driven our ally into the arms of the Chinese, can’t be helping him. To the extent that Obama is seen to be doing nothing useful in the fact of the threats from Iran, threats that are contributing to the gas price rise, also can’t be helping him.
The president has also released a budget, but everyone knows that it’s already DOA in Congress. Most of the press that budget has gotten has been negative, and its release has reminded America that he promised to halve the deficit by now and has not just failed — he has made the deficit far worse.
But also in the past week, the president has turned his administration into a regime with the abortifacient mandate. That mandate may be the most significant and irresponsible power grab since FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court. Barack Obama ran in 2008 promising to be a uniter who would cross the aisles to work with the other side. In the abortifacient mandate, he has used his unpopular health care law to push rules that were never voted on and would not have passed Congress on their own. He has promoted that policy with obvious lies that insult the attentive American’s intelligence. He has picked a fight with church leaders, but more importantly, put himself on the wrong side of the Constitution’s protections of religious freedoms. The Democrats have tried to spin the reaction to the mandate as a “war on women,” but the polls suggest that that tactic isn’t working. Lately the president isn’t governing, on the XL Pipeline and increasingly on the mandate, with the consent of the governed.

hi bryan,
why did obama drop like a stone?
simple:
the gop circular firing squad chilled out for the week.
all the extended gop contest is doing is turning off the independents we need top defeat obama.
thanks newt and rick!
Bingo!!! Give this man a fish.
No, thanks Mitt! Any candidate that is stuck around 25% is obviously not the one. Why doesn’t Romney the RINO drop out so the GOP can settle on Rick or Newt?
That way the general election can be a contest between a Liberal and a Conservative instead of two Liberals.
Why do you want to deny American voters a choice?
It’s hard to run against a “do nothing congress” when they are doing so much to get that darn pipeline built.
All of those points you listed are adding up to a very ugly picture, Bryan.
But add to that the story about the jack booted thug from the USDA confiscating the preschoolers lunch on behalf of Michelle Obama and people really begin to see that this is a government without bounds. A tyrannical government that isn’t above kicking its way into every aspect of our lives and isn’t shy about harassing little kids.
On the one hand they like aborting children. On the other hand, once they’re born they are treated like enemies of the state.
“On the one hand they like aborting children. On the other hand, once they’re born they are treated like enemies of the state.”
They ARE enemies of the state – that’s why they’re aborted. Failing that, they get the treatment and indoctrination camps (i.e., public schools).
Read the fine print. It’s a poll based on telephone interviews of 1500 adults.
If you were to conduct a telephone poll during business hours, just what type of person do you think would have time to participate? Hard working small business owners and taxpayers? Or people sitting around on their lazy duffs during the day, collecting various types of federal government hand-outs?
Do you think it’s just a coincidence that the percentage of those approving of Obama’s job performance is identical to the percentage of the American population receiving government financial assistance?
“The Democrats have tried to spin the reaction to the mandate as a “war on women,”
They call the Repubs the Stupid Party, but this is the stupidest thing about the Dems. They are not willing to ever come out and admit when their guy simply stepped into it. So they do their little soft-shoe, trying to convince you that what Obama did was not wrong. Their guy can never do wrong, so he keeps dragging them down.
Or maybe they really do support his policies? Maybe this is really what they stand for? That would be even more stupid.
I think the message is that the Obama team does not realize that his determination to aggressively hold to his Socialist agenda, in increasingly doctrinaire rhetoric, is the greatest aid he can give to the conservative cause. Instead of going into rants, we should be encouraging him; “Attaboy, Comrade. Let them know you are inflexible in your determination to turn us into a Soviet Republic! Go for it! Yes you can!”
Five points? Really Bryan – I see a two point decline. Now how about where he was last summer and you might have a different take. Heck if they ask me even I wouldn’t approve of his job but for different reasons than you. I think a more important poll is who would people vote for and that’s looking a lot better for the POTUS now isn’t it.
Remember New York’s 9th Congressional District.
The only poll that means anything comes November…
This information certainly doesn’t jive with past weeks information (2/16/2012)touting Mr. Obama’s invincibility vis-a-vis his Republican opponent in any debate scenario.
Poll numbers, about to flood the airwaves, tout Mr. Obama as this Nation’s hands-down favorite for re-election.
Why would such a divergence in polls, numbers and data be so apparent? Simple!!!
Mr. Obama’s supporters want the Nation to see his invincibility as a shoo-in for a second term. Therefore, so goes the thinking in White House War Room (read: Axelrod & Emmanuel), Republican voters will be dismayed and stay home…instead of voting in overwhelming numbers to oust this fraud being perpetrated on America’s Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.
So, one’s conclusion from this massive fraud soon to wash across America’s airwaves…is proof positive that Those in the White House have THEIR polling numbers showing Mr. Obama’s quest for a second term is DEFINITELY in serious jeopardy and these White House operatives are pulling out every dirty trick in their books to insure their regime’s survival, a la chicago-style politics (read: GREED & POWER).
Republicans, Independents, Moderates and Democrats (what remains of traditional Democrats)… MUST vote in massive numbers to save America from socialism’s marxist/leninist doctrines. Vote massively, for massive fraud is definitely all around us. God Bless America. Amen!
