New Benghazi Emails Mean Obama Impeachment Trial Must Be Launched

April 29th, 2014 - 11:39 am

I didn’t know how right I was when I wrote on September 29, 2012 “Benghazi Worse then Watergate.”

With the release of new emails it is spectacularly worse — so bad in fact that it has made a full investigation with an impeachment trial necessary for the protection of our republic.

From the Washington Free Beacon:

Previously unreleased internal Obama administration emails show that a coordinated effort was made in the days following the Benghazi terror attacks to portray the incident as “rooted in [an] Internet video, and not [in] a broader failure or policy.”

Emails sent by senior White House adviser Ben Rhodes to other top administration officials reveal an effort to insulate President Barack Obama from the attacks that killed four Americans.

Rhodes sent this email to top White House officials such as David Plouffe and Jay Carney just a day before National Security Adviser Susan Rice made her infamous Sunday news show appearances to discuss the attack.

The “goal,” according to these emails, was “to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure or policy.”

The levels of criminality involved in this are mind-boggling.  Everyone from Ben Rhodes to Hillary Clinton to Jay Carney to Susan Rice to Mike Morell to Barack Obama and on and on must explain themselves minute-by-minute. American “liberals” and their media consorts should search their souls. People died here.

Well, At The Rubicon, I would certainly bet against it's happening too, for all the obvious reasons. But it's my job, at this moment, to incite, to push things forward. We need to wake America up - to borrow a phrase from the Left.... By any means necessary. I am hoping to exhort others to join me. Cheers.

HAHAHAHA! ::wipes tear::

Roger, that is possibly the funniest thing I've heard this week. Didn't you know some cranky old racist said some racist stuff this past week? Obviously, that takes precedence over 4 Americans being killed in a premeditated attack that was whitewashed by the White House.

Another impeachment & Senate trial? Not wise. The Senate will never convict, and ObamaPravda (aka the MSM) will muddy the waters and declare impeachment a badge of honor for their persecuted messiah. Anybody remember President BJ Clinton? Besides, the media theme during the fiasco will simply be: "Dude, that was like two years ago!"

Good luck with that idea Mr. Simon.
Good luck.

"Anyone who now considers Benghazi a “fake scandal” is either a complete liar or a moron." Yeah, that's the Democrat Party. Incredibly shameful.

Take a hint from the Democrat playbook. Delay the start of the trial until after the Mid-term election.

"Dude, that was two years ago!" -- Tommy Vietor, former NSC spokestool to Bret Baier.

Like, get over it already! so what if they searched Youtube looking for a scapegoat, found it, and spent the next several days lying their arses off?

Is lying impeachable? That is the real question. Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, but none of these guys were under oath.

I vote with Larry that this president in the remaining thousand or so days we're stuck with him will not be impeached.

Lying per se (not under oath) isn't impeachable.

The Constitution Article II, section 4: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

I just learned the "high" in crimes and misdemeanors refers to (high) office and doesn't attach to the nature of the particular crime/misdemeanor but to who is doing it.

At the very least, more than one of this president's actions fits the always (not) reliable Wikipedia's definition of high crimes and misdemeanors...

"The charge of high crimes and misdemeanors covers allegations of misconduct peculiar to officials, such as perjury of oath, abuse of authority, bribery, intimidation, misuse of assets, failure to supervise, dereliction of duty, conduct unbecoming, and refusal to obey a lawful order."

Abuse of authority, misuse of assets, conduct unbecoming...yeah, every day.

Simon doesn't get it. There will be no outrage nor impeachment, the media are in the tank for Obama, as is the Democratic Party and those who have staked their emotions and 'intellect' on Obama. The Republicans are a joke, so don't expect to hear much from them neither, perhaps with a few notable exceptions.

To ever have believed that a youtube video is responsible for any Muslim jihadist outrage is to be a brain-dead moron to begin with. It would be like blaming a youtube video for any and all jihadist attacks from Somalia to Nigeria, Israel and Yemen, Pakistan to France. It would be like blaming a youtube video for jihadism from the last thirteen hundred years or so. It would be like blaming a video for honor killings, the murder of ex-Muslim apostates, the Syrian civil war and yes 9-11.

So the kind of people who ever believed that to begin with are not the kind of people who are capable of anything remotely intelligent or moral here, that would include 'soul searching'.

Things are so far gone into soft and not so soft tyranny in America, that Obama can pretty much get away with anything. It's not 1973, when Nixon was held accountable. That America is long gone, that America is one only for the history books. Expecting some kind of impeachment process, or expecting it to go somewhere; well it would be like expecting the revelations of government corruption and graft in Uganda, Brazil, Mexico, Pakistan or South Africa to actually lead to reform there.

Dream on Simon dream on.

Of course they never believed it was a video. They only hope that WE will believe it.

Also up for discussion: why Obama told our men to "stand down" and not attack the jihad boyz to save our people. High treason indeed.

"American 'liberals' and their media consorts should search their souls."

How can they search something that doesn't exist?

My father died last year. He'd always been a strange and secretive man, but we learned after his death that he was also deeply evil. Though the extent of his evil will never be known, his crimes date back almost seventy years.

Evildoers reach what they think is a fail-safe point, beyond which they think they can never change. They're wrong, because every day above ground is an opportunity to repent and make amends, but once you've covered up certain crimes long enough, there's no turning back.

American have to stop demanding that the utterly criminal Obama administration and its allies do the right thing. That's like asking Kim Jong-Un to search his soul.

All we can do now is try to prevent further damage and repair the damage done. But don't waste your time asking these people to feel shame or guilt, because it'll never happen.

"It is our duty as citizens to put as much pressure on those representatives as possible to carry through this investigation to its natural conclusion — impeachment."

What have you been smoking, Roger? No. One. Cares. Not the Republicans, not the LIVs, not the media. No one. This is old stuff for a citizenry whose attention span is measured in days, much less 18 months. The most pressing issues for our Republic today is that appropriate punishment is doled out to some octogenarian billionaire bigot (death penalty, perhaps?) and that the military's primary mission has been "transformed" into gay and Muslim outreach.

We are stuck with Obama and his cronies until they decide to leave, and not one day earlier.
