Jewish Civil Rights Group Warns Columbia About Entertaining Ahmadinejad… Again!
Is Columbia University suffering from a collective case of the Stockholm Syndrome?
It would seem so. After having once hosted Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, they are doing so again — and this time they are giving the misogynistic, homophobic, Holocaust denying, religious fanatic a banquet! The progressive intellectuals of Morningside Heights evidently have a special place in their hearts for state sponsors of terrorism who murder and torture their own citizens with impunity.
The victims of that terror of course do not. Fortunately, Shurat HaDin — the Israel Law Center that has led several successful lawsuits by victims against perpetrators of terror and their enablers — has again risen to the victim’s defense by issuing a warning to Columbia’s president. From the Center’s press release:
Jewish civil rights group Shurat HaDin — Israel Law Center — has sent a warning letter to Columbia University President Lee Bollinger advising him that Columbia’s plan to host a banquet for visiting Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad runs afoul of U.S. anti-terror laws and will subject the university and its officials to both criminal prosecution and civil liability to victims of Iranian-sponsored terrorism in Israel or elsewhere. The letter explains that Iran has been designated as a state sponsor of terrorism by the United States (22 U.S.C 2656f) and that the provision of any support by U.S. persons, including the planned banquet for Ahmadinejad, is considered unlawful provision of aid to the outlawed regime. The Law Center stated that victims of Iranian terrorism will file civil actions and hold Columbia liable for their injuries.
From the letter signed by New York attorney Robert Tolchin and Shurat HaDin director Nitsana Darshan-Leitner:
Hosting Ahmadinejad at a banquet is not merely morally repulsive: it is illegal and likely to render Columbia University and its officers both criminally and civilly liable. Iran is official designated under U.S. law as a state sponsor of terrorism, as a proliferator of weapons of mass destruction and as a perpetrator of human rights abuses. Ahmadinejad is Iran’s chief executive and personally directs Iran’s terrorist and nuclear proliferation activities and human rights abuse ….
While for Columbia University and certain of its officers hosting Ahmadinejad at a banquet might appear to be nothing more than a harmless Radical Chic parlor game such conduct is in fact very serious business that can and will have severe, real-world criminal and civil consequences for Columbia and its officers.
Ahmadinejad will be in New York next week to address the UN General Assembly for Durban III — the so-called “World Conference Against Racism.” The parentheses are deliberate, since the international body’s Durban I and II conferences were actually fiestas of racism — featuring virtual non-stop anti-Semitism and demonization of Israel.
As some may recall, PJTV attended Durban II in Geneva when many European leaders walked out on Ahmadinejad’s speech. We made some videos of the dramatic events with Jon Voight, Alan Dershowitz, and others.
We will be there for Durban III as well. We will be streaming Anne Bayefsky’s counter-conference on Thursday, September 22, with such luminaries as Voight, Dershowitz, Eli Wiesel and former NY Mayor Ed Koch. The stream begins at 9AM Eastern. Please tune in at PJTV.com.
Regarding the Shurat HaDin letter to Columbia President Bollinger, it can be found here.

“Ahmadinejad will be in New York next week to address the UN General Assembly”
It doesn’t make sense that it’s even allowed, let alone not seizing him forcibly when opportunity happens.
Considering that Ahmanutjob-the-Hostage-Taker had so little respect for US diplomatic immunity back in the 70s (and yes, I am old enough to remember it very well indeed), we should have just gone ahead and arrested him and put him on trial. Or, better still, shot him on sight as a foreign enemy.
The whole thing is nauseating. And it’s sad to note that while the powers that be at Columbia are thrilled to throw a banquet for a monster like Ahmadinejad they wouldn’t so much as give the time of day to an American Conservative. Ahmadinejad is welcome but they would line up around the block to spit in the face of Glenn Beck, for instance.
Moira that is just how DISGUSTING colunbia and it’s administrators are. by the way that is allso bho’s almamater too. so what else can you expect,
Obama went to Columbia?
REALLY??
Why doesn’t anyone remember him there?
If you know anybody who went to Columbia, attends Columbia, has family who attends Columbia or works at Columbia, or has any connection to Columbia – especially donors – make this atrocity known. They can’t all be this irresponsible and irrational.
When I first read about Columbia hosting “Ajad” again, I had the same reaction as last time. Self-hating, utterly despicable, self-destructive fools! They will try to explain that they are merely honest brokers, trying to “hear the other (non-Western, non-Israeli) side” of the story of world events from one of the world leaders himself; that they are merely objective seekers of truth, a worthwhile academic mission. However, that is an entirely false justification.
Columbia, even more than most elite U.S. universities, is rife with anti-Western, supposedly anti-Imperial, anti-capitalist, anti-Israeli and just plain anti-Semitic faculty and graduate students. They hold much respect for Ajad and just about any other tin pot dictator and 11th Century Jihadist that you might name. “Because they hate us, they must be right” could be a passable slogan for so much of their crackpot philosophy and the basis for their incredibly bad “scholarship” and political action.
Please forgive me for the following lengthy introduction, what may seem to be an off-topic distraction at first, but please be patient with me. Coincidentally, I have just finished re-reading William Shirer’s “20th Century Journey; The Nightmare years, 1930-1940.” I would highly suggest that anyone who can find a copy at a library or used book sale, get it and read it. Besides an entirely amazing early chapter on Afghanistan that reads like it was written yesterday (depressing and discouraging to say the least), the book mostly covers Shirer’s posting as a US correspondent for several newspapers and then CBS radio throughout the 1930′s, in the first instance of truly instant international news coverage. He got to know practically everyone in both the Nazi government at some level or another and in the European diplomatic community as a whole, especially the French, British, and Russian ambassadors and attaches of every description, as well as many political leaders in France and other middle European states of the time. What he witnessed, and what we are living through today is so similar as to be downright frightening. People like the academics at Columbia had their exact doppelgangers in the West during Hitler’s rise and early conquests, and had Hitler been less xenophobic and parochial in his travels, I have no doubt that he would have been frequently toasted and celebrated in the halls of British, and maybe even French, academia. All the same rationalizations and underlying anti-Semitic attitudes were in play; all the same stupid rationalizations for Hitler’s barbaric treatment of his own people and his totalitarian racialist theories and thirst for conquest, all the same absurd and idiotic appeasement and hope that if he took just one more country under his foot, he would leave the appeasers alone. Why did they believe that? Because Hitler told them so! Just as Ajad doesn’t really hate Jews or today’s Left in Europe, and far left even in America, don’t really hate Jews either. Certainly, they’re merely criticizing the mistakes of Zionism. And when Israel gives in to their demands, the Ummah will all join hands with the Israelis and sing Kumbaya. How do we know that? Why, they tell us so! Just as Hitler was only responding to the bestial aggression of the maniacal Poles, after all. And after he took just part of Poland, like Austria and Czechoslovakia, Hitler would certainly be satisfied.
It is more than a little scary, and unless we get someone as a leader who can think a clear thought, has read history, can make a simple analogy and, most of all, be on “our own side” (and consequently, on the side of Israel as well) in matters of our dealings with the despots and racialist theocrats of the 21st century, we may be in for a time even more terrible than was suffered by our grandparents. All the ingredients – the bad economies threatening to get even worse, the rise of anti-Semitics, the theocrats and dictators and terrorists on the make, the hapless appeasers telling us to just avert our eyes – all of it just like the 1930′s. May God help us and deliver us into the hands of some people wise enough to avert what may be a mighty and awful storm.
Please start by voting out the economic know-nothings, lunatics and appeasers in 20102.
dafrank. I finf your article to be very true and not lenthy at all.I am 75 years old and so I do know of what you are talking about. I was on occupation forces in germany and saw the results of hitlers shere STUPIDITY. and we do have far too many IDIOTS like those at columbia. remember. thats where the current occupant of the oval office got his education???
Well, he *says* he went to Columbia. Did he actually get an education, or did he rouse rabble? Did he graduate?
Very interesting, I have read some of Churchill’s “The Gathering Storm”.
Theme of the Volume;
How the English-speaking peoples through their unwisdom, carelessness, and good nature allowed the wicked to rearm.
I came to the same conclusion. That is that the current naiveté concerning evil is eerily similar to the 1930′s.
Columbia’s Administration’s offer to host an open proponent of genocide and destroyer of free speech in his homeland is away beyond immoral – it is outstandingly stupid, It is difficult to conceive of a more certain way of slashing alumni contributions and reducing enrollment. A love affair with communism is one thing, but giving a paranoid holocaust advocate “an opportunity to “express his side of the issue” in a smarmy gesture of protecting the right to freedom of speech is rightly regarded as open treachery – giving aid to the avowed enemy. It is, in truth, he inflaming of terrorism and should be prosecuted as such.
And this is America’s leading educator of journalists!
stuart now you know why there ARE no more journalist, only MUCKRAKERS,
the United States has done a poor job of understanding al-Qaeda during the past decade, and as a result America’s offensive and defensive measures in the fight against the jihadi group have often played into its hands. Al-Qaeda had, in my view, two overarching strategic objectives on September 11, 2001. One was to diminish the powerful U.S. economy. The other was to make the conflict with the United States as broad as possible, expanding it into multiple regions and thus fueling the perception that America was at war with Islam, not just a small group of Islamic militants.
The U.S. lack of strategic understanding of al-Qaeda at an official level is easy to document through a look at the most important documents the government has produced addressing this question. A key example is the “National Military Strategic Plan for the War on Terrorism” (NMSP-WOT), published by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. As you know, understanding an enemy’s ends, ways, and means is fundamental for military planners—that is, what is the enemy’s goal, and what are the ways and means by which the enemy will pursue this goal. The NMSP-WOT contains no ends, ways, and means assessment for al-Qaeda, but tellingly, does perform this analysis for the United States. Similarly, neither the White House’s “National Strategy for Combating Terrorism” nor the 9/11 Commission Report perform an ends, ways, and means assessment of the jihadi group. The typical method of analyzing al-Qaeda in these documents is discussing its goal of re-establishing the caliphate, and then its use of the tactic of terrorism—leaving an unresolved disconnect between goal and tactic. It’s as though the unstated assumption is that the group doesn’t think strategically, a truly unjustified assumption.
As a result, the U.S. measures for combating al-Qaeda often played into its hands. The price tag of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq has been over $1 trillion in direct budgetary outlays—and the true cost has been even greater when such second-order consequences as deficits and rising oil prices due to resulting instability are considered. And it isn’t just our wars that have driven up the cost of fighting Islamic extremism: the United States has also created a bloated, expensive, and inefficient system of defending the homeland against attack.
Conservatives, don’t fall this sort of idiotic chatter. We do however wonder, what in the world is wrong with you. And how in the in the Sam hell did you come up with this nonsense?
Is this what they teach at Columbia University?
Conservatives, don’t fall this sort of idiotic chatter. We do however wonder, what in the world is wrong with you. And how in the in the Sam h#ll did you come up with this nonsense?
Is this what they teach at Columbia University?
No, I think we understand Al Qaeda, including its beliefs & objectives and ways & means. It is your post that lacks understanding, as well as understandability. What the hell are you trying to get at?
“Here’s my opinion” is just a foot-soldier armed with cut’n'paste. He/she/it nowhere attempts to respond to Roger Simon’s article, or to any other comment; it doesn’t even refer to either Iran, or Columbia University, the subjects of the original piece. These are standard left-wing tactics, of course: if the left can’t respond to rational argument, it responds with ad hominem attacks, or a different argument, based on “political correctness” (usually in the form of an accusation of racism), or, as demonstrated by “Here’s my opinion”, a block of wholly irrelevant verbiage, copied, no doubt, directly from some other web page.
The Durban3 debacle should NOT be held in NY, U.S.A. for the same exact reasons that Columbia shouldn’t host Admanutjob. The U.N. is traitorous towards the U.S.; has long since ceased to be relevant and daily grows more anti-Semitic. This Durban3 hatefest is no different than the attempted building of a barracks for the soldiers of Allah at ground zero – the GZ mosque; it’s a middle-finger to the U.S.A. Admanutjob (amongst others) is flaunting his evil for all to see and we are encouraging it – very very disturbing to say the least.
“May God help us and deliver us into the hands of some people wise enough to avert what may be a mighty and awful storm.”
We are a resilient people and God surely will do His part to deliver us from this evil and bring us through the coming days and years … so in the face of great evil, there is no need to fear. Remember that Admanutjob is literally a midget both in stature and influence – he’s a tin-pot dictator that won’t be with us too much longer.
With the proper legal pressure applied, Bir Zeit on the Hudson can be brought to its financial knees.
IF anyone can accomplish this glorious feat it is the Israel Law Center. They know their law-Israeli and international-and know NO fear.Bollinger et al would do well to fear them-as they should!!
By the way, it was due to their yeoman’s efforts that the supporters and underwriters of the illegal Gaza blockade were stopped-dead in the water.
You’re dreaming. The pseudo-intellectual New York liberal Jews will pump whatever money and media they can into Columbia, the NYT or whatever.
Israel has no enemies as dangerous as the near-ancient cult of liberal Jews in NY and California.
pelaut, while what you say about liberal Jews are true, it is no way obviates the damages which the Israel Law Center can exact.
As is said, the proof is in the pudding. To wit, Lloyd’s of London (the largest insurer in the world!) was brought to its knees through a similar action by the Israel law Center. Until they were served ‘lawfare’ notices, that their actions of insuring boats would violate international law, thus contravening Israel’s legal blockade, they insured the ships. However, they removed the insurance policies once they were served their lawful notices.
Even Columbia won’t be able to avoid this legal net-despite the protestations and coffers of liberal Jews and others who come to their rescue.
There lives a strain of insanity at Columbia…do these folks realize Ahmadinejad firmly believes (and is working towards that end) that a high percentage of Columbia’s students and alums shouldn’t even exist?
Not that the left needed any help melting down the Race Card credibility, but when the Left enlist Ahmadinejad as an ally on that talking point, the issue is OVER. Democratic party following Weprin’s defeat in NY: “Wait, we LOVE the Jews! Pay NO ATTENTION to that upcoming vote for Palestinian statehood at the UN!”
I took the bother of Googling Lee Bollinger and found to my surprise that he is not what I thought he was. His adherence to the right to free speech may go beyond what most of us may consider reasonable but he certainly doesn’t come across as a lunatic anti-Semite. His speech in introducing Ahmadinejad in 2007 hits the little moron from Hades with a broadside that destroys the man. Here is the link to the speech: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/news/07/09/lcbopeningremarks.html – I like Baobo’s suggestion about seizing Ahmadinejad while he is here. We seize and prosecute former heads of state in the World Court for crimes against humanity. Why not this despicable little piece of dung?
What’s next, are the people at Columbia going to invite Kim Jong Il over for drinks? Seems that Columbia has a fetish for asking America-hating dictators to come over and speak to a well-trained audience of pups, willing to lap up anything these maniacs have to say. And people are paying upwards of $50,000 a year to send their kids to a place like this? America really has gone nuts.
Norman Mailer, quoting Voltaire, said “Once it’s an experiment. Twice it’s a perversion” Columbia alumni should write the president and the Alumni Association explaining why they are withholding their class gifts.
My guess is that a proposal to let Benjamin Netanyahu speak–not throw a party for him, just talk–would be rejected out of hand.
Get David Goldman to stop them.
These same students and faculty undoubtedly feel America is sponsoring terrorism through Guantanamo, and that torture is wrong.
The dungeons of Iran are filled with women and men being tortured, raped, and murdered.
I will always recall Roger’s encounter with Ajad in a hotel lobby, he sensed the evil even from a distance, I don’t doubt this one bit.
I just watched the Path to 911 and now understand why and how it happened. It was that hippie Clinton and his incompetent administration who let Bin Laden live.
Ricahrd Dreyfuss has a great speech on his Civics Initiative website, there he talks about raising our future leaders by teaching them about the greatness of the freest nation on earth. To teach history and critical thinking because we are raising the next crop of kids who will lead the country. These people are doing nothing more than helping the modern world self destruct.
Also having recently seen Indoctrinate U makes me think our world is going to look like Leonard Cohen’s “The Future” Indeed things are going to slide:
There’ll be the breaking of the ancient
western code
Give me crack and anal sex
Take the only tree that’s left
stuff it up the hole
in your culture
Give me back the Berlin wall
give me Stalin and St Paul
I’ve seen the future, brother:
it is murder.
Your private life will suddenly explode
There’ll be phantoms
There’ll be fires on the road
I’ve seen the future, brother:
it is murder.
Some analysis of the song: Sounds like what’s happening to the minds at Columbia.
Things are going to slide in all directions. Won’t be nothing Nothing you can measure anymore The blizzard of the world has crossed the threshold and it has overturned the order of the soul When they said REPENT I wonder what they meant
According to the speaker’s apocalyptic vision, meaning and order will disappear. The categories of the soul or consciousness essential for “measuring,” differentiating, and making sense of the world will lose their defi-nition. “Things are gonna slide in all directions” suggests that oppositions set up to categorize the world such as good and evil, God and Satan, self and other etc, will cross the boundaries that define them. According to the speaker’s apocalyptic vision, good will become indistinguishable from evil
Columbia U’s actions are inexorably linked to the leftist progressive ideology that blames the USA, capitalism – and its puppet state Isreal – for all the world’s ills.
And which group ALWAYS VOTES liberal progressive? Jewish american voters.
Which intolerant, arrogant pseudo-religious ideology is worshipped in academia with its blatantly anti-semitic message? Liberal progressivism, socialism and yes, communism (note that communism has resulted in more deaths than any other ideology in world history, and in Manhattan, you can find the hdqtrs of the American Communist Party; imagine the reaction if the NAZI party had a hdqtrs in Manhattan).
Jewish americans hold influential positions in american society, and their support of all those policies and politicians who worship at the alter of the anti-semitic liberal progressive god is coming home to roost.
You would never, ever have those evil “conservative” organizations invite a Hitler to speak; but you can ALWAYS find plenty of “liberal” institutions that have no problem inviting a Hitler over for tea and idle chatter.
No matter, the jewish american voter will never vote for anybody that is not liberal progressive.
My father got his Master’s at Columbia in 1954. He was very proud of the school. His ashes must be angrily spinning off the coast of Greece right now.
Or perhaps your beloved fathers ashes are doing more than that-
http://www.debka.com/article/21301/
- and of his child I’m sure he is proud.
Isn’t it horrible enough to invite him to talk that Columbia seems to feel the need to throw a banquet in his honor too?!!!
The leader of the country where people have “the most freedom” on the planet will have so much to talk and boast about once he is back in Iran. He will surely intensify the suppression of the people of Iran in the name of democracy. He will have all the pictures and videos to show that intellectuals of even the United States, the satan, the biggest enemy, appreciate him and his democracy.
Well done Columbia. I am glad that I am not in the process of choosing a university. For sure, Columbia would have not been my choice!!
This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode – ‘To Serve Man’. Beings from another planet land and sweet talk the earthlings into coming to their planet. Their book, ‘To Serve Man’, is only translated at the end as they are boarding the ship. “It’s a cook book!”. Do you smell something burning?
Protesters should line the streets! This place should now be blacklisted if there are any ways possible. It boils down to the stupid unconscious faculty and administration.
We are in trouble for the poor idiots who come out of this “not think school”.
Employers should take note of a job applicant with a degree from Columbia University. Said applicant is totally devoid of basic intelligence and should not be hired.
Ahmadinejad should be received with a -hunger strike- instead of a banquet!
He should be received with a taser, and hauled off to a black ops interrogation site.
But failing that, I wish the Israel Law Center godspeed in their promised lawsuit. Columbia University should not be allowed to urinate on U.S. anti-terror laws.
On another angle, the statists do this probably specifically to annoy conservative America. They are a snide bunch, these statists and take a special sort of pride in doing that which annoys us the most. It matters not the potential for huge consequences because they revel in the fact that the right gets agitated. And if that’s its sole purpose then they have run off the rails and bear no more attention. When you ignore children who are trying for attention, they will try harder, at first, then give up. Of course, one must still pay some attention to their activities so as not to be blind-sided, but do not give them notice, acknowledgement, or act annoyed in any way.
However, I commend Shurat HaDin’s actions in pointing out the violation of US Law and if the DOJ does nothing, they are therefore complicit in the treasonous act. But that comes as no surprise to anyone here. Business as usual, purposeful only in advancing the statist agendas. Never thought I’d see the day.
“Snide”. I love snide.
Liberals seem to attract “S” adjectives.
Snide, sneering, smirking, smug, supercilious, superior, sarcastic . . . . .
Yet still again another shining example of socialist affinity for those sharing their anti-Western totalitarian views.
Well put. And here is your observation in cartoon form:
http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/images/2007/09/24/bollinger_ahmadinejad.jpg
Israel now needs to start standing up for themselves and use their weight in numbers and stop ALL donations to Columbia University in the future if the Univ. allows this whack-job to speak. Money talks and the Jewish community in the United States needs to start waking up and use their influence on matters like this!
You lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.
You lay down with fleas and you cut out the middle man.
Leftists want to make an open showing of their treason. This is an in your face act of hatred against America and Israel. Why shade it and hide it in the shadows any longer?
Radical leftism and radical islamic jihad are the burrowing fleas under the skin of all moral humanity. And they are mating with each other and laying their egg sacs at Columbia. A school known best for hatching journalists and hiding transcripts.
Just a minor spelling nitpick to the title of your post.
In “Columbia Invites Iran’s Ahmandinejad to be Feted at Banquet”, I believe the correct spelling is “Fetid”.
My Father a near top of his class graduate of Columbia is turning in his grave.
It seems that the more conservatives argue successfully against lib and lefty policies (their belief system) the more the latter descend into madness. Or is this just wishful thinking on my part? There has to be a bottom to this, beyond which indeed lies madness; maybe the silly people at Columbia hosting AhMADdinejad have at last reached it.
Anyone can of course let the University know how they feel-

Answer these questions. Is not the goal of higher education to question, to never accept at face value, to enlighten, to debate, to participate in the advancement of human knowledge? A lofty and worthwhile purpose but how does an academic dedicating his life to the intellectual pursuits and a search for the broad recognition his tenure and his job description demands (publish or perish), achieve that by taking common sense, main stream positions on mundane issues? A very difficult task at best, but rendered manageable by intentionally positioning oneself and garnering the notoriety that comes with an alliance with one of the most widely recognized, controversial, anti-American, anti-Jewish and obnoxious little nut cases on the international stage, who also happens to be a prominent Muslim, the newly enshrined successor to Communism standing on the glorified pedestal adored by the Left; why that’s a sure rocket to prominence within and outside the community of their like minded peers. In this case it’s not an individual effort but one by a group representing Columbia University.
The magnitude of the deviation from mainstream thought and opinion, the more outrage engendered among the “great unwashed” actually elevates their standing within the broad community of academics who equate the magnitude of the deviation from conventional wisdom with the magnitude of the intellect and that, in the narrow, sheltered minds of the academics, those who live and die on their perceived intellectual acumen, is all that counts. The glare of anger and contempt coming from outside this clique is a measure of it’s success from within.
So Columbia elevates its standing among its peers by indulging in an act it is well aware will enrage and perhaps hopes its lofty standing as one of America’s prominent universities will engender the respect it thinks it deserves. Does it actually support the antics of this little Iranian Hitler wannabe? I don’t know but hope Columbia gets exactly what it deserves.
Good man, father. You have taught me well. So when I read that women had makeup scraped from their faces with razor blades by the Khomeini regime, I was not alarmed. It’s all the same in our great multi-cultural world. If only others would understand the importance of cultural relativism as well as you do, father, then Hitelr would have been able to speak at Columbia in 1938 and things would have been so much better, no?
This reply makes no sense.
I think you make a great point here. Spitting squarely in the eye of John Q. Public carries great cachet in the utterly removed, self-absorbed world of modern American academia. Shades of Obama seeking campaign donations among the San Francisco elite. These are the people who would exchange OUR liberty for their social experimentation.
Iran is state sponsor and enabler of Hezbollah. Pictures of the Ayatollah were found all over southern Lebanon when Nasrallah set his little minions to attack Israel in 2006.
Iran has provided IED’s and EFP’s to kill Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The little twerp A’jad should be arrested the minute he steps off the plane in New York. (What has happened to the various reports of A’jad getting too big for his britches and falling out of favor with Khamenei ?)
Each year for the past 3 or 4 this little twerp has really gotten off on his yearly sojourns to speak at the UN. The first year, why, the Mahdi himself showed up and infused the room with light as A’jad was speaking.
Columbia is profoundly stupid (not to mention subversive) to host the jerk.
the same people who happily embrace “freedom” to hear what they already know this little nazi will say – are the same who shout down any Israeli speakers and make a huge theatrical productions of asking for Cheney/Bush or any Isreali diplomat to be arrested as “war criminals”.
The saddest part of jewhate is, there is never a win – if Jews or Israeli do succeeed in getting Columbia to dis-invite the pig-eyed sponsor of death, they will still lose- branded as controllers of the world or USA, censors, fascists etc.
Jewhate is not logical and cannot be erased by facts, history or logic.
As a JEW who does see the “same old” repeating, one who knows Never Again is Here Again, I am saddened, disgusted, incredulous. Unable to phathom the blindness, the willful condoning of such madness by my fellow Jews.
The history of JEWs proves that the most assimilated will always advocate suicidal values and join the haters – has been going on since the rift between Maccabees and Hellenist JEWs, Sadduces vs Pharisees, the “enlightened, modernist” REFORm Jews of Germany died in ovens too, the LEfties in ISrael advocate for terrorists and ethnic cleansed Gaza JEWS- on 9-11 I knew the canary died, I saw this “Brave New World” and I told everyone I could to listen and understand the message- but my pleas fall on deaf ears.
The insanity is growing larger and spreading like a virus- it poisons minds and hearts- and now I am “the enemy” the racist, the warmonger, for trying to defend my country my ethnic group from the fascism of ISLAM. Everythingis upside downand backwards- Fallen through the looking glass…………..
At the time of the banquet at least we’ll know why there are no homosexuals in Iran.
This is an interesting philosophical test case because Mr. Ahmadinejad does not believe in “free speech” that he disagrees with.
So if the free speech is not reciprocated, why does Columbia University bother talking to him?
I’d like to see this be something that KEEPS COLUMBIA from being a recipient of loans and grants, etc. handed out by the US to institutions of higher education OR THE STUDENTS WHO ATTEND — it is approaching treason to give this kind of honor and sustenance to an enemy of the state. I am not even mentioning the immorality of this act.
If Columbia hosts that monster again, I hope they are sued into bankruptcy. This world would be better off without such an evil institution. After this, anyone who attends or contributes to that nest of vipers should be ashamed of themselves; no, more than that: criminally prosecuted. Unfortunately, Columbia is on the list of schools my brilliant grandson is considering applying to. I have already told him “Oh, please, not them.” Now I am really going to start a “no Columbia” campaign. If I have anything to say about it, he’ll never get near the place.
Yeah, but I’m far more concerned about Rick Perry speaking at Liberty University. Just trying to think like an academic.
/snark off
Can’t we at least agree to take Ahmadinejad into custody, throw him in the paddy wagon, and demand $1.5M dollars bail for his release? That’s what these mad Mullahs are charging us for kidnapping our citizens. Charge Ahmadinejad with trespassing, crimes against humanity, or jay walking. Doesn’t matter.
This SOB 30+ years ago helped put black bags over our citizens heads and held them for 444 days as hostages. He’s been spitting in our faces and killing our people every since.
I’m with Dr. Frank on this one. The minute this little maggot steps on the tarmac, zap him in the head with a taser, fry him for a minute or two, then cane him for good measure. I’ll guarantee you, if I had any say in this, the last place on earth Mahmoud would want to visit in the United States – U.N., or no U.N.
We are quickly becoming a nation of Neville Chamberlains.
I agree with you, Tex, but then we don’t play the meta-morality game like our liberal betters. It works like this: Ahmadinejad is a murderous little thug. If we treat him like a murderous little thug (following the course you suggest and of which I approve) then we are just as bad as he is. The correct way is to treat him with kindness, dignity, and respect, and to give his views a hearing in an open, non-judgmental forum. For if we censor him, are we not doing just what he does to dissidents in his own country? Honoring him despite our revulsion for him will prove to the world (and ourselves) that we are better than he is.
I don’t believe any of this.
Honoring him despite our revulsion for him will prove to the world (and ourselves) that we are better than he is.
Which is precisely Eric Holder’s argument for wanting to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the rest of the beheading desperados in an American civilian court.
To show the world America’s high and elevated system of justice.
What a total crock, from the criminal Holder, loading up the department of injustice with mental midgets like himself.
(Not to mention that said desperados begged for martyrdom, years ago. We should have obliged them.)
It’s too bad that John Wayne Gacy is dead, because it would be AWESOME to give him a party, too. Maybe he could give a speech, put on a slide shows of his clown art, and perhaps answer a couple questions about . . . oh, I don’t know, maybe how much the Jewish kids deserve what’s coming to them, and how they’ll all end up in his basement someday.
Columbia students should be so proud, to be able to rub shoulders with someone of this caliber. Maybe they could use him as a reference when they try for one of those cushy government jobs!
I wonder why Jake Tapper hasn’t asked President Obama about his response to his alma mater’s little Hitler party goin’ on. Maybe Tapper could ask Obama if he’s going to attend (I’m sure he’s been invited), and if he’s still contributing to the Columbia alum funds. It’d be interesting to see what the president would have to say about it.
I encourage every one at PJM to leave a note on the Columbia paper which is allowing comments-

It is a chance to educate and inform. Don’t pass it up. Thanks, MBY
Googsle Yiisa and Stephen Norwood from a talk on the role of the Ivy League colleges including Columbia in the 1930s sponsoring talks, dinners, cultural exchanges with the Nazi regime. This stuff with Iran is deja vu-totalitarian chic.
Columbia cannot legally stop Ahmadinejad from speaking. Ahmadinejad is adjunct faculty at Columbia and has won teaching awards from the Columbia student body.
As convert to Judiasm there are many cultural aspects I do not understand. This goes beyond all of them. I am a conservative republican but that will never trump my principles or morals. When did being a liberal democrat become more important than doing the right thing? Since President Obama was elected I find myself less and less comfortable at my reform synagogue. Sad.
Denise, You have answered a question I have long been asking myself. I too, have wondered why so many of the Jewish faith have turned a blind eye to the Dems and their continued back-stabbing of Israel.
