Benghazi, Mon Amour

And the horse you rode in on

And the horse you rode in on

Just when you think the farce that goes by the name of the Obama White House couldn’t descend any lower, along comes this:

In a move sure to provoke congressional Republicans, President Obama is nominating embattled U.N. Ambassador Susan E. Rice Wednesday to serve as his national security adviser.

The White House also confirmed that Mr. Obama is nominating former aide Samantha Power, who once referred to Hillary Rodham Clinton as a “monster” in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, to succeed Ms. Rice as U.N. ambassador.

For those of you scoring at home, that’s not one, not two, but three flips of the Obama bird to Congress, the American people, and his erstwhile secretary of state, Hillary Clinton. Let’s start at the top.

Susan Rice is no more qualified to opine on matters of national security than a character from The Wizard of Oz. Like Obama himself, she is a highly politicized, over-credentialed Scarecrow, with certificates from Stanford, Oxford, and the Brookings Institution in place of a brain. Among her intellectual “achievements”:

In college, she pushed herself to excel. She not only earned Departmental Honors and University Distinction, but also became a Harry S. Truman scholar, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and earned a Rhodes scholarship. She turned the heads of top administrators when she created a fund that withheld alumni donations until the university either stopped their investments in companies doing business in South Africa, or the country ended apartheid.

After she received her bachelor’s degree in history in 1986, she went on to attend University of Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. Here she earned her M.Phil and D.Phil in international relations, and wrote a dissertation that examined Rhodesia’s transition from white rule.

A protege of Madeleine Albright, Rice joined the National Security Council during the Clinton administration in 1993:

[Albright] recommended Rice for the post of assistant secretary for African affairs in 1997. With her appointment, she became one of the youngest assistant secretaries of state ever. Many elder politicians disagreed with placing a young woman in the position, arguing that she would be unable to deal with older, male leaders. But Rice developed a reputation for her direct, plainspoken opinions, and an ability to bring people to her side of the table. “They have no choice but to deal with me on professional terms. I represent the United States of America,” she says. “Yeah, they may do a double take, but then they have to listen to what you say, how you say it and what you do about what you say.”

In other words, she’s a grievance-monger with a feminist chip on her shoulder, twin virtues which will henceforth inform her foreign-policy perspective as Obama continues his mission to “fundamentally transform” American society by wreaking revenge on his “enemies.” But wait, it gets worse.

Ms. Susan comes across as a silver-spooned twit, angry, bitter, entitled and shallow -- also sufficently tinted to expect full-court MSM protection as ...well, what?... as a birthright, that's what. Over-credentialed for sure, but also bereft of all street smarts, guile and combat skills of the kind a kick-ass diplomat needs (no coincidence that her mentor and 'family friend' Albright lacks them, too). Nat'l Security Advisor? R-i-g-h-t.

Interesting to compare little Spo' with the other Rice, Condoleeza, who wasn't perfect by any means (zero management skills at the top of the list), but was -- and is -- a woman of real merit with powerful analytical abilities.

So, yeah, Carville's correct, sad-assed dupe Susan is an in-your-face appointment and Obama will get away with it, a fine example of Newtonian politics, a trend in motion that will continue until stopped. Meanwhile, the farce continues, our institutions decay from within as planned, and our country shrinks a little more each day. The 'loyal opposition', in its role as Chorus, whistles past the graveyard, tuneless and useless as ever.

Somebody please explain why this will end well.

About time for martial display. For drama, how 'bout Marine Corps bands blasting out Battle Hymn of the Republic, simultaneously, coast-to-coast and often, spelled by really big and very noisy Taiko bands massed outside Congress and the WH, just to show how multiculti the revulsion is? Beat-2-3-4-5-6. Beat-2-3-4-5-6. Beat-2-3-4-5-6.... Maybe also a few ropes over lamp posts, French-syle, as a nod to Europe. Do you want change or not?

" ....... blowing a chance to persuade the American people on a positive policy agenda. "

Okay. So let's start with selling the notion of scaling back the government so as to place it on a fiscally sound path (but don't talk of the repeal of ObamaCare!) in order to save America from eventual financial ruin. There's a positive idea. Now, take that out and sell it to the currently dumbed-down, uninformed, and propagandized electorate.

Go for it, Bill. You threw down the challenge. Just tell us how it shall be done.

There may be one shred of hope remaining concerning Benghazi. Hillary Clinton will go quietly into the night because of Benghazi. If Benghazi ends her career, she will take a few with her - including Obama. It should also be noted that the Clinton power base has dwindled as Obama's people have steadily seized influence in both the Democrat Party and the Beltway. But, the Clintons still have many friends.

Everyone knows that either Obama personally issued the stand-down orders or delegated that authority to Penetta. That is where he is vulnerable. If documentation or recording of what occurred in the Situation Room that night every get leaked, Obama could very well see a firestorm erupt that will not only bring his administration down, but also cause a civil war within the Democrat Party. In both cases, Hillary wins.

Stay tuned.

When Susan Rice's face is at rest (usually always is) it has the blank look of one who is truly confused and terminally dumb.

I refuse to die until 2016 to see if Patrice Lamumba throws Hillary under the Benghazi bus. I want to see Bill have him for lunch. We deserve at least that much after this circus. I am glad my father didn't live to see this or I would have to cancel my phone service forever.

The people sense we are in a revolutionary time. The majority just mistook Obama for the revolution they could believe in (ooh, look at all the pretty balloon-ideas !). Sorry, Insane Left, but revenge doesn't cut it as a "positive policy agenda".

Flipping the bird has many contexts. >>good luck to the Republicans on the Hill getting the new National Security adviser to testify about Benghazi now.

Her testimony is no loss. What does she actually know? She was handed a script and she read it. The questions are, who wrote the script and why? Hillary's the one to call in for a Q&A. No, I don't expect any facts from that, but I do expect various and sundry side effects on her political future and Obama's.
