Andrew Breitbart Ignored the Pain
Everyone has something to say about the great Andrew Breitbart, including some nasty monsters I will get to shortly. I was with Andrew in Los Angeles Friday previous, plotting the next wave. He was sick with a cold and ordered salmon and asparagus while I had something frighteningly called a “marrow burger,” on his suggestion of course. Just last night, I heard from him about his interest in a delicious story of the absurd I had, which I suspect will be available eventually, in a place and time so less important than last night.
In LA, I spent a day at the secret Bigs complex watching Andrew’s dedicated soldiers at war with the Institutional Left, lit by the glow of computer monitors. I never imagined it would be the last time I saw Andrew, as he tore off to do a Lou Dobbs hit on Fox about which he nearly forgot.
Let’s face it, nobody has been doing more for the conservative and libertarian movement in the last two years than Andrew Breitbart. Congressman Anthony Weiner and ACORN no longer exist because of him. He is the zeal of the Tea Party movement, in one man. Roger Simon calls him a whirlwind. Great line.
I will be forever grateful for Andrew’s blurb for the jacket of Injustice, a favor despite my editor’s 6 a.m. call from the east coast pestering him for the blurb. Andrew also reported on photographs which did not make the book showing Senator Obama marching with New Black Panther Party head Malik Zulu Shabazz. The story is in the book, but only Andrew published the photographs the photographer told my publisher not to publish. Breitbart had guts.
That’s what so many in the movement lacked before Andrew came along. That’s what so many still lack.
Andrew called my house in July of 2010 to thank me for my courage in quitting the Justice Department and blowing the lid off the New Black Panther dismissal. I had never talked to him in my life, but we spent the next two hours on the phone, talking and becoming fast friends. We were born months apart. We shared the same musical tastes, the same cultural references boys growing up in our era did. He welcomed me to the fight and explained his deep love for his country, and his fear it was slipping away.
I’m glad that article with the photos points out the links on Obama’s campaign site to the New Black Panther Party that mysteriously came and went during Obama’s campaign.

Thank you for another glimpse of the “whirlwind”, known as Andrew Breitbart. I’ve had a heavy heart only a few times in my life, and today is one of those times.
Andrew spoke to a group of us in Orlando, FL at a breakfast months ago, and I was fortunate enough to sit at the same table as him. His sense of humor was dry, self deprecating and out there, which I immediately fell in love with. Before he was about to start his speech, I asked him to sign my copy of his book, “Righteous Indignation”, and told him to stay “shallow”. We laughed and he mentioned being shallow in his speech as he winked at me. A very personal memory I will forever carry, yet more than that, I found Andrew to be a “Defender” of anyone who had been persecuted unjustly, and a stand up guy. He was approachable and on other occasions when I met him, always interested in meeting and talking to anyone.
I’m sure Andrew wouldn’t mind me quoting what so many others are saying today, and that is, “We all need to grow a pair of Breitbarts!”
Thank you Mr. Breitbart, for being fearless in seeking justice, liberty and truth.

Peggy, thank you for the lovely remembrance. Last fall I was at a presentation by Andrew, and he also graciously signed my copy of his book which I brought with me. He laughingly told us, among other things, that he has ADD. He also urged us to become what he called citizen journalists. He had a twinkle in his eyes and amusement on his face. Rarely does one meet such a nice individual. Nothing seemed too complicated for him to embrace. What a shame that he left us.
The personal loss to his family and friends cannot be measured, but Andrew’s passing is truly a loss for all of us and for this country. For those of us who knew “of” him more than knew him personally, Breitbart was fearless, and gave us the courage to be fearless as well. The best way I know to honor that legacy is to continue exposing “what the Left really is. How ugly they are.”
You’re right to focus on the question of guts, cojones. If we who oppose the “progressive” plague don’t develop them, we’ll lose and then the planet will lose its city on the hill. Simple as that.
According to Jerome Corsi, Breitbart interviewed Sheriff Joe Arpaio yesterday about what was going to be revealed at this afternoon’s press conference covering what the Sheriff’s cold case posse has learned so far about the Obama documents.

Exactly what I asked myself. Why not the cause of death to be determined or something like that. Sadly I expect a lot of speculation and no firm results. Many a coroner has made false determinations, especially if the pay off is substantial. LA county administration is a nest of vipers.
It is reported that last night Andrew Brietbart conducted a telephone interview (perhaps his last) with Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio about the news conference Arpaio was going to hold today, presenting the results of his six month long investigation into the authenticity of Barack Hussein Obama’s birth certificate and selective service card.
I note that the MSM is not giving this story about Arpaoi’s investigation —and especially Arpaio’s investigators conclusions, that both Obama’s supposed long form birth certificate and his selective service cards are likely forgeries—any play.
This was apparently a full scale investigation, with Arpaio’s investigators travelling all over the world to gather the sworn testimony of various witnesses, and to gather data, and there was a presentation of their detailed analysis of the documents in question, and the other evidence they gathered at this press conference.
Among many striking pieces of evidence, what I found most striking was their discovery that the INS immigration cards (routinely filled out by everyone traveling from overseas to the U.S. by airplane) that covered the week that Obama was supposedly born in Hawaii–records that could have shown if his mother and Obama might have flown back to the U.S. after Obama’s birth in Kenya–had somehow been mysteriously removed from the National Archive’s files, and could not be found.
If I were Breitbart’s family, just to be sure, I would ask for a full autopsy, and a full toxicology screening as well.
What if it was done with untraceable sonic bombardment?
Thank you for this eulogy, which has my eyes tearing up. I heard Andrew speak in Houston at the True the Vote summit 2 years ago. I am going again next month and was looking forward to hearing another inspiring, quirky speech. It felt good to know he was in the world, fighting to expose the dishonesty and duplicity of the Left. I hope his friends, co-workers and admirers will pick up his sword with new-found resolve. An excellent place to start is to work with local groups fighting voter fraud. If I were in a position to speak for his family, I’d say, “Send no flowers. Honor his memory by giving your time and energy to our cause to save a free America.” God bless you, Andrew, and your family and friends. When the Left shows its hideous true colors with outrageous cruel remarks, remember that you can tell a lot about a man by who his enemies are. The more cruelly they lash out at him, the more they honor him and dishonor themselves.
Just think Andrew is right now probably sitting down with the forefathers of our country. He’s trying to explain what the heck happened to their “grand experiment”. After awhile Pres. Reagan will amble by and say “Well…….Andrew, you did a good job”.

I’ve been thinking about this all day.
There are some very capable people on this site, with comparable connection and credential, perfectly capable of taking the mantle from Breitbart and running with it. In fact, we need an army of Breitbarts. I believe we do Andrew Breitbart’s memory a disservice if somebody, or someone, or a group of people don’t follow Andrew Breitbart’s lead about exposing the fraud and deceit called Progressivism on a national level.
I didn’t know Andrew Breitbart personally. But I admired him from a distance because he seemed to hold fast to the truth, and had one quality that I find so rare in Conservative circles.
Andrew Breitbart didn’t give a damn what the Left and their toadies in the media thought of him. He relished the fight. He owned the truth. So do we.
Fortunately, Andrew left us the Big sites, staffed by equally ballsy conservatives who love this country and backed with an army of contributors and patriot commentators who are all doing their part.
If what you say is true and Andrew Breitbart did indeed leave a legacy capable of carrying forth the cause, then you have my thanks and my support, and you will I hope forgive my ignorance.

First, I want to say Andrew Breitbart was a good man, fighting for a right cause. A good cause.
Second. Isn’t it interesting to view the contrast in how the left responded to the death of a mass murderer of 3000 U.S. civilians, Osama bin laden, with how they respond to an American who loved his country and did no violence to their pathetic bleeding hearts? It was all, “we shouldn’t celebrate the death of a human being”, but when it comes to their political opponents they reveal themselves for what they are. Hypocrites, in the least.

Brietbart may have fought for goals of which you approve and against enemies that you share, but he fought dirty. He was an angry bully prone to insults who fancied his use of half-truth and innuendo, character assassination and hyperbole as courageous “journalism”. It wasn’t, it was dishonest and destructive.
So, salute his passing any human may deserve but be aware when you praise his work that you make a statement that the means justify the ends. At least be honest with yourselves that you yourself support someone like Brietbart using whatever methods work to attack your enemies and be aware that you have no ethical limits or moral boundaries.
As for the venom unleashed by those bad old lefties at Breitbart, I hope you’ll also note his comments on Ted Kennedy’s passing,posting a series of Twitter messages in which he called Kennedy a “villain,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “prick.”

He did disparage Ted Kennedy when he died, but Kennedy did commit crimes against the young woman he callously abandoned to die a horrible, slow death. That is a fact (something you should familiarize yourself with in the future). By your non sequitur position, Breitbart’s accurate criticism of a criminal justifies disparaging him upon his death for criticizing criminals, but ignores the obvious: commenting on the detestable behavior of a narcissistic, corrupt criminal is not a crime and is not equal to letting someone drown, while you save your own fat ass. You are saying that free speech can be construed as being as reprehensible as callous and depraved indifference to someone drowning. A depraved, illogical, and frankly moronic argument if ever I have heard one, but not unusual among the false equivalency prone, logically challenged, ideologically constipated Left.
As for your maunderings on the Left’s operating principle, the end justifies the means: you have no moral standing to criticize anyone for doing what you do, incessantly. Fighting fire with fire is sometimes necessary and not unethical, since it is being done to negate a movement that openly rejects morality and ethics. For your lame argument to work, you would have to establish that Breitbart’s actions were, in fact, ruthless or immoral, but you are a moral relativist, so you can’t very well do that, can you?
The Left always uses morality as a leverage point to criticize the right, or limit their options. You people have no use for morality other than as a way to demonize, instill guilt, and generally cause quandries that freeze those on the right. You have worked hard to establish hypocrisy as the worst of sins because it gives you a tool to silence critics afraid of being so charged, and you can claim immunity since you have no morals. A neat trick, if you can get people to suck for it. Breitbart saw through it and didn’t give a rat’s ass about your pseudo-moral code. Neither do I.

BTW, my personal theory about Breitbart’s passing is that he just couldn’t face being exposed in court in Sherrod’s defamation suit for the low-life cretin that he is nor could he face the consequences which would have been the result of losing that suit which would have been the dismembering of his hateful little website and probably the loss of most of his assets.

As one poster mentioned the ability of the KGB to mimic heart attacks with various poisons and concoctions, and with the close affiliation of the POTUS with the CPUSA, a serious deep investigation of his death must be unfertaken and not allowed to be covered up by LA democrats or anyone.

To me there is a difference: Kennedy wasn’t a nice man, he never paid for having a friend drown with his full knowledge that she could have been saved. The way he treated waitresses, remember the socalled waitress sandwich? Lies….ad nauseum. There is nothing wrong with calling out the indiscretions of such an individual as Kennedy, he personified hypocrisy.

You are making a non sequitur argument that Breitbart’s comments disparaging Kennedy, for callously abandoning a young woman to die a slow, terrifying death, is somehow equal to the act of abandoning her to die a slow, terrifying death. Kennedy is guilty of depraved indifference, at the very least. Breitbart condemned him for it. How did you possibly arrive at a moral equivalency when Kennedy is the one who committed a serious crime, and all Breitbart did was call him on it???

The very untimely death of arch-conservative Andrew Breitbart promises to fuel suspicions that foul play was involved. Indeed, another arch-conservative, radio commentator Michael Savage, has already suggested Breitbart was assassinated.
The 43 year old Breitbart, who had said three weeks earlier, ”Wait til they see what happens March first,” died near his Los Angeles home on Thursday, March first. According to the Associated Press and Reuters, the conservative firebrand had a history of heart problems and his personal website, Breitbart.com, reported he died “unexpectedly from natural causes” although no cause has yet been provided.
Indicative of official doubt as to reasons for his sudden death, the LA coroner’s office announced it would conduct an autopsy. Whatever the autopsy findings, it can be certain many will conclude Andrew Breitbart was murdered by one of his many enemies.
Aside from the deaths of Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, no conservative’s passing would have delighted the rabid left more than Breitbart’s and his enemies began to spew their hatred in venomous articles and tweets within hours of the reports.
The taxpayer-subsidized NPR called him a “provocateur” and ”bombastic.” The Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington was about the only prominent liberal who didn’t rip Breitbart. She couldn’t bring herself to describe his political influence but did praise him as a passionate, exuberant, and fearless friend.
WashingtonExaminer.com published a few of the earliest tweets, beginning with Slate.com’s Matt Yglesias’, “Conventions around dead people are ridiculous. The world outlook is slightly improved with @AndrewBrietbart dead.”
That mean-spirited observation was gracious compared to others including, “Andrew Breitbart now enjoying afternoon tea with Hitler good riddance you hack,” ”Andrew Breitbart died? Is it wrong that I’m happier about that than when they got bin Laden and Saddam?” ”Breitbart dead? More republicans should follow his lead,” “Andrew Breitbart is dead, He was a vile excuse for a human being,” and “Andrew Breitbart haha youre dead and in hell being a gay with hitler.”
I assume those tweets were either a consequence of President Obama’s call for more national civility or a reflection of the fear Obamians are experiencing as they await Breitbart’s tapes of Barack Obama at Harvard.

No surprise Andrew Breitbart and Christian Adams bonded, as they are both poured from the same mold and both serve as role models for me and so many others.
I do not waste energy on anger or revenge towards the coarse and vulgar Daily Kos types as I have to believe they live in their own tortured and hate-filled hell every moment they are awake. “What goes around comes around” – always – and I must admit I eagerly await the time these hate mongers are doused in the bad karma they created.

I believe Andrew was referring to Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s WND News Conference wherein the Special Committee revealed Fraud and Forgery on Obama’s Birth Certificate and Selective Service Card. The conference was held on March 1. It can still be seen on WND.com I think.
