Andrew Breitbart: A Whirlwind Dies
When a whirlwind dies, there is a sudden quiet. Los Angeles this morning is deathly silent.
Christian Adams doesn’t usually phone me at 6:20AM. What’s this, I thought grumpily, ringing him back on my iPhone. And now I sit hurriedly typing in my office where Andrew Breitbart, a man many years younger than I and twenty times more energetic, would sit with me half a dozen years ago or more when we we first met, typing out his end of the Drudge Report while gossiping non-stop and downing a soda.
He was astonishing even then. He would say to me, “You know, bloggers don’t know how to write headlines.” He was right, of course, and I wondered if he was talking about me. I was one of those bloggers, struggling to get a few hundred hits against the massive traffic he and Drudge were generating. Among his many talents, Andrew was a brilliant headline writer.
And then came awesome entrepreneurship, spawning web sites the way guppies spawn babies — a man born of the Internet and born for it.
No more. Andrew Breitbart dead at 43.
My condolences to his wife and children.
My condolences to the conservative world.
My condolences to America, which has lost one of its truly great patriots. Andrew, more than anything, cared about his country. He worked for it non-stop. And now he has given his life for it.
RIP.

(Continuously updated: Breitbart’s enemies celebrate on Twitter.)

Only the good die young.
Breitbart was indeed brave and good. The left went after him for his Shirley Sherrod tape, but they were wrong on that one too: Sherrod was an appropriate target. Scroll down to the bottom of this blog and read what the entire tape reveals about her: http://clarespark.com/2010/07/18/white-elite-enabling-of-black-power/. Only Andrew McCarthy on NRO got her story right, and even he left out some juicy tidbits.
What? There must be some mistake. We can’t lose Breitbart, not in the middle of the biggest fight for freedom we’ve faced in a long time.
He was only 43!!! What the hell?!?!?!?
More than any one person, he was denting the evil of leftism. Their joy in his death proves this.
This is the *last* person we could afford to lose at a young age. There is no one person whose premature loss is a bigger setback for us.
I think this proves that there is no God. There just isn’t one.
I beg to differ. God wants us ALL to fight for what’s right–not just the bravest, like Andrew. Like any good parent, God is provoking us to stand up for ourselves and fight the good fight.
RIP Andrew, we loved you as you loved our country. God be with his family and help them with their loss.
Terrible.
Am I the only one a little suspicious?
No, you’re not. I hope more details will be released promptly.
No…
Four ‘No’ votes, and counting.
You are not the only one. I would wager he was poisoned by the leftists.
The VERY powerful left in Israel has eliminated opponents in more ways than one.Few have any idea about this, but there are enough credible investigations to prove this to be the case.
IF I were a relative of Breitbart’s I would demand an autopsy. There are many ways that he could have been gotten to. IF he died of natural causes then so be it.
In any case, he was a Conservative hero and many are in his debt. Here’s hoping there are others at his organization that will take up his huge mantle.
Most especially, condolences to his grieving family. As one who has suffered such an immense and sudden loss too, I know too well what they are going through.
RIP. The good DO die young, so did my beloved!!
Five. If our suspicions are confirmed, the Left may just have created an energizing martyr the likes of which they will sorowfully regret. God bless you, Andrew, and your family and friends. We will miss you. It will be hard if not impossible to replace you.
First thing I thought, “Natural causes my a–.”
Count another suspicious one.
This is almost too incredible to comprehend.
Me too. And my second thought was “autopsy”
I wonder what will happen now with those videos of Obama from his college days that Breitbart said he’d reveal.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Those videos need to be under lock-and-key. With multiple copies scattered hither and yon.
I, too, mourn Andrew Breitbart’s passing.
But let’s not go all tin-foil-hat here. He was known to have heart trouble.
I am so very, very sorry and am truly heartsick about Andrew’s passing. I pray for God’s peace for his wife and children.
May he rest in peace.
The Shrine is is Deepest Mourning this Tea Party Warrior
He will be greatly missed.
His best memorial is for all of us to continue the fight with the same joy that infused all that he did.
A great warrior.
I am shocked.
Such terrible news. I don’t want to believe it’s true. Tears in my eyes right now.
I thought it must be a joke. Shock does that. Like so many others, I am stunned. My heart goes out to his wife and young children. What a loss. What a sad loss.
Oh no.
How horrible! A family has lost a son, a husband, and a father all too soon. May they all, in time, find peace.
Breitbart is one of my heros!
A great loss, for his famility and for our times (not to mention him!).
Sadly, rather than merely a footnote on a page noting his passing, or even a few paragraphs praising his life, I suspect the lefties will be out celebrating in the streets and chanting he got what was coming.
But then, Andrew would ahve gotten a kick out of it, and say, now report this and show the world their true faces (again)!
May he rest in peace
The worst part will be the Occucretins invading and picketing his funeral.
He may have wanted it to be like that. After all, the picketers will be — in the sincerest possible fashion — demonstrating just how much he hurt them while alive.
Admittedly, I imagine they’d get the mother of all verbal smackdowns once they tried to Mic Check the funeral service.
no the worst thing will be the jackals on dailykos and democraticunderground celebrating his death like they did Cheney’s heart attacks
and the Gawker sites. The stuff those “compassionate liberals” are writing is sickening.
I say “bring them on.” After all the obnoxious BS “protests” Fred Phelps and his a-hole followers have done noone, and I mean noone not deep into his world, has sympathy for him or his “cause.” Let the OWS types and rabid leftists make total asses of themselves harrassing a grieving widow and kids. I know it will be hell for them, but from what I’ve seen of AB and his wife, I bet she the kids will weather the storm just fine.
The best disinfectant for their sort of slime and scum is sunlight. Lots and lots of sunlight.
“Let the OWS types and rabid leftists make total asses of themselves harrassing a grieving widow and kids.”
….. and videotape them. And post it everywhere. And demand that Kos etc say something about it.
Went to Huffpo expecting celebrations.
In the 200 or so posts I read, not one disparaging remark, no “got what he deserved” …. Nothing but condolences to his family, respectful posts of “I didn’t agree with him, but”. Most of the posters, conservative and liberal, were saddened that he was gone, and not because he was so young, but because he will be missed as an ally and an opponent.
It surprised me a little.
Ms. Huffington’s tribute was especially heartfelt and sincere.
I was surprised too. The outpouring of sympathy from the HuffPo commentors – most of whom disagreed with his views – was amazing.
I wish I could say the same about the comments on other left leaning sites. Horrible people.
I hope Arianna was civil and sincere–Andrew made her empire possible. It’s the absolute least she can do as thanks.
She sent condolences. HuffPo are civil, others aren’t.
Kudos to Ms. Huffington and her readers. We do not have to agree with others to still appreciate their contributions. Indeed – it is those with whom we disagree that challenge us and make us better than we would otherwise be.

The best comment on Big Journalism:
Not acceptable. I demand a retraction.
Indeed.
This is the saddest news. May the Lord comfort his family. He was a shooting star that lit up the sky too briefly.
Watch his last appearance at CPAC, not even a month ago.

My heart is heavy with grief. We needed Andrew as we are in the fight of our lives this year.
Hard NOT to think that he got Chicago’d.
A man claims he’s got video of Barry’s college years, and then like that, dead?
Yeah. It is rather interesting, isn’t it?
…no more so than any other event that defies all odds in every way.
When I heard that he had video of Obama, I worried that he would not make it to the election. I hope this was a natural death – because if it isn’t, we are in deeper $#!+ than we know.
Meh. I read that Andrew had had some heart problems, so I’m not going to think conspiracy until there’s conclusive proof of it.
Andrew Breitbart died suddenly. This is a sad loss for conservatives. Wacky, paranoid, unfounded conspiracy theories about his death being a murder, simply turn his passing into a juvenile parlour game. Breitbart deserves more respect than that.
I am deeply saddened by this loss. He was a major defender of conservatism in this new world of blogging and he had absolutely no fear of liberals or the mainstream media. He will be terribly missed. We need a lot more like him, too.

“Suddenly you were gone
From all the lives you left your mark upon”
I never had the privilege to know you in person, Andrew, but I miss you already.
Yehi zikhro barukh/May his memory be blessed.
Natural causes? Really?? Who dies of natural causes in their prime of life at 43? This pill is too hard to take. What a loss!
Agreed. I’m waiting for ‘them’ to tell us ACTUAL cause, not NATURAL cause. Tim Russert died suddenly from a ruptured aorta…’they’ never said “he died of natural causes”, “but the actual cause is undetermined.”
i had a cousin who died suddenly at roughly the same age
she had “risk factors” and died instantly from a brain aneurism with no warning
literally here one second gone the next
Very sad for his family and for us. What is God up to?
This is most unfortunate.
After feeling devastated for the last hour, after reading Mr. Simon’s post… I feel like we just lost our William Wallace and we are all now Robert the Bruce at the end of Braveheart.
We MUST pick up Andrew’s flag and sword and carry it forward!
William F. Buckley died before the ’08 election. Feels like an awful, awful repeat of that. God keep his family.
Feel cheated.
This is really really terrible news. Just sad and shocking. It was great to have someone young and as SMART SMART SMART as he was in our corner. Wow. What a loss. What an enormous loss.
What a dynamic American. This country needed at least another 40 years from him. This is an enormous loss. He will be sorely missed. I pray that the momentum he built with his various websites and blogs continue on forever.
Horrific loss!
I am deeply saddened. His work should inspire us all to insure his legacy by demonstrating the same manner of courage that he did. It is up to us all to honor him by aspiring to his courage and conviction.
I heard this at 8 AM on the way back from the airport. What a shock. He was fearless. May we carry on with the same sense of fearlessness.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
We have lost a warrior in our fight for our freedoms. His family has lost that and more.
When one of ours falls we must pick up the banner and go forward. But, it is much, much harder to replace a few. Andrew among the most difficult to find an adequate replacement. He moved forward without an ounce of fear. So rare, so precious, so necessary at this time of our need.
Goodbye Andrew. Thank you for your valor. You will be missed.
Since when in the modern era is dying at 43 “natural”?
in the broadest sense of the word, i guess we all die natural deaths.
breitbart influenced many of us. to honor his death, i will start my own blog. may it have 1% of the success mr. breitbart have.
Welcome to Chicago politics!!!!
So shocked and feeling so completely bereft for a young man I didn’t know and had never met but whom I counted on utterly to fight the brave fight with such vigor and glee.
His poor family. May God be with them.
Suspicious ol’ me would suggest a very thorough autopsy and toxicology report.
I am heartbroken. But the best legacy is to continue his fight. RIP Andrew.
43. I am 49. Andrew was willing to wear the mantle of Champion for me and my views. I envied his business acumen and his talent – and his remarkable ability to articulate what I knew to be true, but just can’t put together in a rational way.
I will miss hime. Prayers to his family.
Message to Joe Arpaio: Andrew Breitbart suddenly dead at age 43. Get it?
Should have clarified…….message was from the “established ruling class” not us peons.
When I read your first remarks I was wondering how to interpret that.
I’m sure the Chicago crowd is wishing a similar fate on Sheriff Joe. Only a few hours until we find out what Sheriff Joe has uncovered.
http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/media-finally-paying-attention-to-eligibility/
Is there any other President with as nebulous history as Zero?
Worst news ever…an indescribable loss. My condolences.
What happened? I jump online at work and see this?!? WTH?! I await more information with a heavy heart.
Who, among those who best knew and worked with Andrew, is best fitted to raise the banner he carried? Who most worthy of our support to carry the fight forward? Step forth, be heard, we will follow!
To that question, I daresay he would reply: ‘Each and every one of you!’
WTF? This must be some sort of joke.
Such a young man to leave his wife and young family.
Terrible tragedy.
His loss so painful for so many of us — he was inspiration itself. He was one of the very greatest.
Irreplaceable.
We are wounded.
He will be so sorely missed.
Andrew was the only Journalist I would have invited to sit at my dinner table. He is going to be hard to replace. He had gained the trust of so many.
I apologize, Folks, I am so shocked that I must keep posting.
Let us honor him by multiplying our efforts in defense of Freedom. Read more, learn more, spread more information, attack the totalitarians from any angle in any occasion.
In this time of mourning, another fan above brought up a great point–Andrew’s public claims about the Obama college videos. Will these now be lost, forgotten, or buried? These videos need to see the light of day. Who will make sure it happens?
The beauty of [our country] is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!
Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; ….
How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! ….
As close as it gets to an indispensable man.
I grieve.
I agree with all here. A tremendous loss to Andrew’s family and friends and to the whole cause of freedom in this country. As many have said, the best way to honor him is to keep fighting against corruption and for the truth and the Constitution.
It seems that Breitbart might have succumbed to a heart problem he may have been ignoring to do his citizen-based activism.
I shudder to think about what is being written in the comments sections on opposition websites today.
Autopsy anyway.
Simply devastating.
We must all pick up his sword and fight on.
We All Must Pick Up Andrew’s Flag and Carry It Forward, Proudly..
Rest In Peace, Andrew Breitbart
This has saddened me like few things have in a long, long time. Why? A man worth knowing has passed. I didn’t know him, but you could tell with every word he typed or spoke that he was indeed someone any man would be glad to call friend. I would have liked to have shook his hand and said, “thank you for what you’ve done and what you’re doing.”
How do we respond? We fight – fight harder and with more resolve than ever.
Andrew showed the way. He showed it with tenacity and panache. He showed it through his love of country and his love of freedom. He showed it every single time he got in the faces of those who would subvert our freedom. He showed us we can’t let them take it without a fight. He showed us we don’t have let them take it at all.
Condolences to his family. He will be missed by many.
Lesson learned. I won’t let this week pass without showing my gratitude to the men and women in my life that I admire and respect. Bring on November. Fight for the America we love. Fight and win – and remember with thanks a good man who helped lead the way.
we who treasure our freedom and are willing to defend liberty have lost an esteemed comrade. He will be remembered for his heroic acts. Farewell kind sir.
So sad. Every one has to step up now! Andrew would want us all to become an army, doing what he did, and more than he could do by himself.
I am floored. He was our lion, and now he’s gone. Our conservative world needed him so much, because we don’t turn out great conservative warriors as much as we’d like. I am so sorry for his family, but I am also sorry for us. Will someone please step up? Will someone walk in his shoes?
IN THE WORDS OF ANDREW BREITBART
“I volunteered to fight in this war. I have risen through the ranks and now find myself on the front lines with an army of New Media warriors following me into the fray. It is no longer a choice to fight; I am compelled to fight.”
How many die at age 43 with having achieved so much? Author, blogger, tea party warrior, great friend and supporter of Israel the man and his work will be fondly remembered for a long, long time.
My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, the cause of limited government of, for, and by the people has lost a great champion.
RIP, sir, RIP.
I am sure every Black person in America will mourn his passing — starting with a certain Ms. Sherrod.
Good bye Andrew and God-damn you all the way to hell!
-The Left Wing Troll
My prayers for you, poor soul.
Idiot, you don’t believe in God or hell (which will be your resting grounds). Those are just empty words from you.
Nice, what’s it feel like to be a soul dead piece of human feces, there troll? I bet the day you breathe your last breath, there won’t be anyone at grave site. What goes around comes around l’il piggie.
I completely understand your thinking. Your comment is revealing.
You probably think of yourself as a commited leftist. Your expressed hatred, outlined in your comment above uncovers something else entirely. It shows you to be a deeply troubled sociopath. I would guess that a professional analyst would be able to uncover the events that occured in your formative years that have rendered you your damaged personality.
You need to get some help. You are likely losing your ability to cope with the everyday world you live in. You’re a very sick person.
I am sorry for you, you must have been hurt profoundly when you were a child.
What was Breitbart about to expose that they had him killed?
He was my hero. I am physically sick. There is no one to replace him. I hope his staff will carry on, somehow.
Breitbart was the General Patton of political infighting . As Jonah Goldberg said he was fearless. He exposed the Liberal Left for their Pinnochioism .
He pulled their covers and exposed their America hating and criminal activities.
I am deeply saddened . My prayers are with his family.
American Christian Infidel

This is a devastating loss. I am truly bereft. May God bless and keep all who mourn you, Andrew. May He grant your just reward. And may He grace us by sending another warrior to pick up your mantle (although I’m sadly confident we will not see your like again). This is terrible–Je suis désolée.
I am too so sad. He was this decades biggest hero to me. I pray for his family that Lord will comfort them. But I hope if this is not of natural causes, we will find out the truth. I am not a big conspiracy theorist, but it is odd. We lost a good one today…let us keep the flames aburning in the search for the truth….RIP Andrew…
To those of you who become upset at the nasty comments about Breitbart on the lefty sites and on Twitter that will appear today, I can only suggest that you keep this in perspective: They lose a piece of their soul with each insult they type. Pity them. Then annoy them with your prayers.
In fact, take the time today and “flag” them for abuse on those websites. Instead of complaining, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Andrew would have wanted it so.
Then tomorrow, channel that energy into commenting more yourself on lefty and standard news sites.
WIN 2012 FOR ANDREW.
Well said.
Andrew would have retweeted their nasty tweets with a snarky comment. Just saying.
Andrew said what I often wanted to say, did the things I didn’t have the courage to do; was the kind of person a person like Tom Paine would have seen as an equal. As you know, we are fighting a government that prefers enslavement over freedom, access to contraception over freedom of religion, a well told lie over the unvarnished truth.
Andrew Breitbart knew all this only too well; faced down his political enemies who also were freedom’s attackers until they blinked.
I loved Andrew Breitbart. Please, God, love him, too.
Such a pisser. Such a rabble-rouser. The world needs people like Andy Breitbart. I didn’t always agree with him but he was ALWAYS interesting. It was fun to watch him get into it with his opponents because he was having fun. A man in his element is always a joy to watch.
I realized all of the above when he showed up at some liberal conference or another. The liberals were drawn to him like moths to the flame. He was just eating it up. Holding court as it were.
He will be terribly terribly missed.
I truly feel for his family for the lost of such an important man. It saddens me to know that he is gone and will not have a chance to repent for his support of the homosexual agenda infecting the GOP. While I applauded him leaving the group GOProud, he never did take a strong stance against the sodomites attempts at destroying the US through homosexualizing the US military and wrecking the family unit.
Its terrible to know that such an important man is burning in hell.
Are you God to pass this horrible judgment? No one is perfect. God indeed, sees us as imperfect human beings who make mistakes. God is far more merciful and forgiving than people are.
Linda, do not take the comments at face value: the trolls love to post what they think a “super-conservative” would say, just to make us all look bad.
This year, this will happen a lot, when they will try to post “super-conservative” points of view to convince us not to vote for this or that GOP candidate, “not enough conservative”, and keep the communist administration in power and at work to destroy America.
Laugh at them, keep the message pointed against Obama and Co.
Linda, of course I am not G-D. That said, his views on Sodomy is quite clear and well established. We can pretend all we want that ignoring his dictates is perfectly fine to do, but that isn’t the truth. Whether you want to admit it or not, Mr. Breitbart was an apologist for sodomites. He attempted to facilitate them with assistance in infiltrating the GOP in an obvious attempt at continuing the gay agenda. These are not simple opinions; these are clear facts. He only left GOProud when their own outrageous behavior proved too embarrassing for Breitbart to endure publicly. Mr. Breitbart chose not only to abandon G-d in his public life, he actively worked against it. I appreciate a lot of the things he did, but clearly he will suffer an eternity for punishment for his sinful acceptance of sinful depravity.
No way shape or form is this not a sad tragedy for he will never get a chance to repent.
So incredibly tragic. I too hope a thorough investigation into his COD will be carried out. My heart goes out to his family, friends & those of us who so much appreciated all the great things he did; he will be horribly missed by many.
I, for one, would like to thank “Left Wing Troll” (is there any other kind?) for saying what I believe may indeed be the nicest thing anyone in the Leftist world will say about the passing of Andrew Breitbart. I thank you for showing the true nature of what passes for class and style among left-centric thought (an oxymoron, perhaps?) And I thank you for demonstrating to all people who read this blog why it is we fight the good fight against you and your ilk.
Think of me as you sit in the darkness of your parent’s basement typing your leftist dreck with masturbatory furor. Remember me, friend, as I find nothing about you worth particularly worth remembering. Remember most of all that the free ride you and yours have enjoyed will soon be coming to an end. The time is soon coming when bile-filled liberal sycophants such as yourself will be tolerated no more in polite society.
Now move along… grownups hang out here.
So Roger when he tweeted all those hateful things about Ted Kennedy on the day he died that was ok right?
Did he write something false about Ted the Swimmer ?
Or you are comparing a murderer, although not prosecuted because he belonged to the nomenklatura of the totalitarians, to a brilliant intellectual ?
–i don’t think AB and TK are anywhere near moral equivalents. AB was about exposing lies; TK was about creating them. Just for starters, where are AB’s Kopechnes & coverups, and Judge Borks and career assassinations?
IOW, not every cop is a criminal –nor every sinner a saint. The Stones are in show biz, and ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ is a stage act. Ask Mick.
You know, Flaming Idiot, that murdering drunken old degenerate is still dead! He should have died in prison for murdering Mary Jo Kopechne, but he’s a Democrat, and Democrats are good people. Good people don’t do bad things, so leaving that girl to drown wasn’t a bad thing. Isn’t that the way Lefty thinking goes?
“Do not yield to evil, attack, attack, more boldly evan than fortune seems to permit” – Virgil, “The Æneid”
Andrew Breitbart embodied this. Let us take up his fallen sword and go forward, together, for freedom.
A commenter elsewhere delivers Andrew’s perfect epitaph by quoting Edna St. Vincent Millay:
“My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night,
But ah, my foes and oh, my friends
It gives a lovely light.”
Dead from natural causes at age only 43? Very, very strange.
I’m so sorry for his family and grieved that America and the Free World has lost a great hero. Rest in peace, brave hero.
I’d say Rest In Peace, but he seemed to relish the fight. Just for the sheer joy of it. To paraphrase “We cannot spare this man, he fights.”
I admired that, among other things, about Mr. Breitbart.
This is not a good time to have lost him in our cause.
Let us all live to do the things that he can no longer do.
Too young to die. My condolences to his family and friends.
So very sad and untimely.
Apparently, he was taking a walk outside in the middle of the night (he might have been feeling some chest discomfort and thought that some fresh air might help) and that’s how he died, on a sidewalk.
Sean Hannity, who is one of his many friends, said that a year ago or so, Andrew was diagnosed with a heart condition and he was a work-a-holic.
At least he died doing what he loved right up to the end. It’s too bad he didn’t take his condition more seriously, but, at such a young age, it was probably hard for him to believe he was in any ‘trouble’.
He will be missed. I hope he had some appointees to take the torch for him and continue his websites.
Ah, a Datum. There is a grim joke in the medical profession:
Usually the first symptom of heart trouble is death;
Sometimes one draws the short straw – and goes on.
Too early to lose this fighter.
And that would have been true even in forty years from now.
I shot out of bed this morning when the first thing I heard from my clock radio was “Andrew Breitbart is dead at 43.” Unbelievably sad news. My condolences to his family.
I turned 43 a few months ago. This kind of news really frightens me.
Breitbart gave his life: we must dedicate ours to his principles.
He has done so much more than any I can think of to help level the playing field when it is constantly tilted – with little heed to honesty, rules of civilized society, or law of the land – toward the hard left’s agenda to destroy America as we have known it.
We survivors – at whatever level – can best honor his courage and his memory, as well as express our sorrow to his family, by becoming even more active in fighting the battles he would seek.
Vote the bastids out!!!!
It was my dream to meet Andrew Breitbart because I know I would have loved him. We had a few things in common although I could have been his mother.
I had to laugh when you told the story about headline writing because I’ve often said the samething. The success of many of my videos is often based on a provocative and pithy title. That’s was what happened with
“I’m the Fourth Best President™ in American History ~ Barack Obama”
(The trademark is my joke)
Drudge is a master of this as is the NY Post.
He said that he loved finding and hiring talent so I know his work will carry on.

Wait a minute, I do hate conspiracy theories, but Claudia Rosett just posted:
And he died 25/26 days later ?
This stinks !
Yes, I am thinking about poison.
I apologize, maybe I am too much out of my mind because of the bad news.
PS
The trolls are storming the comments at Michelle Malkin’s page.
Surreal? I’ll say. That posh dinner party was hosted by two known killers. I dunno, is a terror-bomber a murderer? Or just a killer?
–not the time nor place for this (probably never would be the best time and place), but, just a bookmark.
Young highly dangerous charismatic attends dinner party hosted by sworn enemies, who have murdered in the past, as well as have been videotaped advocating as a pacification tactic the elimination of 25,000,000 US citizens. A few weeks later this famed, particularly dangerous, artist of the restoration–is dead, statistically several decades too young. If the worst is true, then the killers’ tactical victory is so high-profile it becomes strategic, as the recognition goes far and wide, and results in the felt “do not challenge these people” (in which case, i’m aiding and abetting just by running my mouth here).
Anyway, for example.
Bill Clinton’s regime –from candidate for state office in Arkansas through US presidency –generated an incredible number of lethal accidents and suicides of too-young people connected to various Clinton situations. Most folks who follow such things believe that the Clintons were not giving orders on these things, but were instead being protected –probably whether they liked it or not –by interests with stakes in the Clinton game. Sometimes the term “dixie mafia” comes up.
It’s a rough world in the state of nature. Civilized only at great effort and by constant maintenance.
More than being missed, he will be AVENGED! A Paladin comes riding

Natural causes at 43?
There is something here!
Rest in peace, Andrew… you will truly be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
Where one has fallen, two will rise.
Hate to hear this, tough loss for the good guys.
Rest in peace. An amazing guy.
Who will fight for us now?
chaz – we will fight for ourselves.
Andrew inspired us to do so.
all prayers for his soul, prayers for his children, prayers for his wife, prayers for his family.
may he rest in peace, and be comforted. may his family be comforted and strengthened, likewise.
I was reading an article on Big Hollywood and refreshed the site only to find the obit on the top of the page. I was stunned! At first I thought it might be some kind of joke- maybe someone hacked into the web site. But, unfortunately it’s true.
I can truly say the Andrew Breitbart changed my life. I first heard about Big Government when he posted James O’Keefe’s expose of ACORN. I have learned things from his sites that I not seen anywhere else, and have more courage to confront liberals and argue for conservative views. My best memory of him was at the Tea Party rally in Madison Wisconsin when he said “F- you!” to the union goons trying to disrupt him. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. I will miss him very much.
I just finished watching the live feed of Maricopa County (AZ) Sheriff, Joe Arpaio’s press conference about the results so far of his cold case posse’s investigation into the Obama documents.
Jerome Corsi was present, and began his remarks with an offer of condolences to Mr. Breirtbart’s family on behalf of WND.
Corsi also offered the information that Mr. Breitbart had conducted an interview with Sheriff Joe last night, and had received a preview of the information that was to be covered in today’s press conference. Corsi described it as ”…what may well have been his [Andrew Breitbart’s] last interview.”
The conjunction of these two events seems striking, to say the least.
One of the best communicators of our time. Really sick that he’s passed and yes, you can count me among the suspicious. Poison was the FIRST thing I thought. God bless you and your family Andrew. You will be sorely missed.
I feel sort of like I did when the Challenger exploded.
Words can not describe the sadness; like someone said above, its reminiscent of the day the Challenger blew up. Although I never met him, I dreamt of it, especially after reading “Righteous Indignation”. I had two chances recently, he was appearing with Malkin at 3 AFP Forums here in MI. I hate myself now for not going; the closest one was a 10 hour drive from where I live.
Now I know why they call it ‘heaven’. There are a lot of great, great people there.
Andrew Breitbart will be sorely missed. Lesson to self: next time, make the trip, go see the person you’d love to meet, listen to, speak with, shake their hand. I hope his videos will remain available for study. We all need to pick up his sword and shield and go on.
God Speed, Andrew Breitbart; God bless his kids and wife.
Thank you God, for sharing him with us.
I am suspicious, heart sick and in tears.
Sorely missed.
Kind of a Henry Hotspur
O gentlemen, the time of life is short!
To spend that shortness basely were too long,
If life did ride upon a dial’s point,
Still ending at the arrival of an hour.
An if we live, we live to tread on kings;
If die, brave death, when princes die with us!
Now, for our consciences, the arms are fair,
When the intent of bearing them is just.
Honestly, I have never cried so much for someone that I did not know personally. RIP Andrew. You will be forever missed. God take care of your family.
Arthur Sando was once ”press secretary to a memeber of the USD House of Representatives” –says ‘search’. But can’t find the name of the congressperson. i know –i’m being stupid and creepy. World is so weird these days, it’s like throwing rocks at seagulls –leave no tern unstoned.
It’s a bit of a stretch to say we lost “one good American”. Breitbart had nothing good to say that about Ted Kennedy upon his death. Why should anyone have anything good to say about someone who disagreed with him.
Yeah, but Ted Kennedy was the scum of the earth, both politically and personally.
Breitbart, OTOH, seemed like a pretty decent guy.
Conspiracy and Andrew Breitbart
American conspiracy theories come in all stripes, from the goofy to the believable, from the bizarre to the likely, from the cruel to the fawning.
Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone? Was 9/11 an inside job? Did Whitney Houston intentionally kill herself?
The very untimely death of arch-conservative Andrew Breitbart promises to fuel suspicions that foul play was involved. Indeed, another arch-conservative, radio commentator Michael Savage, has already suggested Breitbart was assassinated.
The 43 year old Breitbart, who had said three weeks earlier, ”Wait til they see what happens March first,” died near his Los Angeles home on Thursday, March first. According to the Associated Press and Reuters, the conservative firebrand had a history of heart problems and his personal website, Breitbart.com, reported he died “unexpectedly from natural causes” although no cause has yet been provided.
Indicative of official doubt as to reasons for his sudden death, the LA coroner’s office announced it would conduct an autopsy. Whatever the autopsy findings, it can be certain many will conclude Andrew Breitbart was murdered by one of his many enemies.
Aside from the deaths of Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, no conservative’s passing would have delighted the rabid left more than Breitbart’s and his enemies began to spew their hatred in venomous articles and tweets within hours of the reports.
The taxpayer-subsidized NPR called him a “provocateur” and ”bombastic.” The Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington was about the only prominent liberal who didn’t rip Breitbart. She couldn’t bring herself to describe his political influence but did praise him as a passionate, exuberant, and fearless friend.
WashingtonExaminer.com published a few of the earliest tweets, beginning with Slate.com’s Matt Yglesias’, “Conventions around dead people are ridiculous. The world outlook is slightly improved with @AndrewBrietbart dead.”
That mean-spirited observation was gracious compared to others including, “Andrew Breitbart now enjoying afternoon tea with Hitler good riddance you hack,” ”Andrew Breitbart died? Is it wrong that I’m happier about that than when they got bin Laden and Saddam?” ”Breitbart dead? More republicans should follow his lead,” “Andrew Breitbart is dead, He was a vile excuse for a human being,” and “Andrew Breitbart haha youre dead and in hell being a gay with hitler.”
I assume those tweets were either a consequence of President Obama’s call for more national civility or a reflection of the fear Obamians are experiencing as they await Breitbart’s tapes of Barack Obama at Harvard.
Breitbart referred to the tapes at his recent 2012 CPAC speech, . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=15359)

article asks: what will become of breitbart empire?
i say:
pjm should buy it. fold it in under a new rubric.
rename itself pjb media.
it would give trust money for andrew’s kids.
Breitbart’s “patriotic” activities included the heavy and dishonest editing of video to smear and bring down people he took a dislike to – proven in subsequent inquiries. Strangely, Simon did not mention those facts in his simpering tribute.
…so, an innocent woman resigned and surrendered her career, on the basis of some guy named Breitbart producing some video full of lies? Why didn’t she just ignore it?
Get the Sherrod story right. And look for a pattern. It doesn’t follow AB’s pattern that he was a tricky propagandist. No, he was a get-out-there-and-talk-boldl, spreading up-to-power guy. The truth is out there now about ther Sherrod vid, so look it up.
P.S. One of the sleazier things the left does is to go after people after they die, spreading stories and chortling. Let’s have some class.
Anyone heard talk of an investigation — maybe with the last man he talked to?(Interesting work bio and connections). I haven’t. I love the We’re All BreitbartNow movement, but hope we’re not in such a hurry to martyr him that we cdon’t demand answers. Last person he talked to was Arpayo, whom he told he was releasing info the next day…? Then he gotes to a bar an night and dies walking home, just after midnight? Woh.
