James Taranto’s running gag, based on this infamous 2008 headline from the Rocky Mountain News fits this Demotivator created by Moe Lane perfectly:

More details here; no wonder the New York Times admires them so.

Update: “Courtesy of the Daily Mail, we now have an indelible, iconic image that sums up the Occupy Wall Street, um, movement,” Jim Treacher adds. “Can you imagine the media’s reaction today if this guy was a Tea Partier? There would be no other news.”

What would Michael Moore say?

Last week, a blogger referred to them as the “Occupee-ers.” Bi-pedal vermin.

In other news, turns out that the firm that manages Zucotti Park received $135 million from the Federal Government to set up wind farm on other property in New Hampshire. The firm is represented by Joe Biden’s son’s law firm and Bloomber’s girlfriend was a lobbyist either the park’s management company.

    CRONY-SOCIALISM WE MUCH!!!!!

This man has finally found an appropriate use for the NY Times.

  4. “What would Michael Moore say?”

    Silly wabbit, he’d say “Yummmmm!”

Is this at Wall Street? The picture is not clear. I’ve seen this kind of behavior occasionally in NYC over the last 30 years, but never saw it attributed to a group made up of thousands of people before. It’s a free country and you can believe whatever propaganda you like, but I’ve been down there, and it’s not like this. As to, “Can you imagine the reaction if this guy….was a Tea Partier,” (an irrelevant question)? The media would probably react as indifferently as they did in 2009 when the TP group was spitting on Congresspeople and an elderly black civil rights leader.

    • Bud,

“The media would probably react as indifferently as they did in 2009 when the TP group was spitting on Congresspeople and an elderly black civil rights leader.”
A charge that was later walked back:

      1. Rep John Lewis never said he was spat upon

      2. For that matter, Rep. John Lewis never said he heard people calling him the “N-word”, it was Rep. Andre Carson who said he heard it. (I know, you’ve been TOLD that Rep. John Lewis said he was called the “N-Word” that day, but go ahead, Google it. You’ll see. He is not on record personally making the charge. Curious, isn’t it?)

      3. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver DID claim HE was spat on, but then after he and everyone else in the world reviewed the video and saw that errant spittle from a man screaming “Kill the Bill!” is what hit Rep Cleaver, he walked back the charge.

But if it’s spitting you’re into, Occupy Boston has you covered.

  6. 6. The False God

“The media would probably react as indifferently as they did in 2009 when the TP group was spitting on Congresspeople and an elderly black civil rights leader.”

You mean the story that was front page everywhere, until the facts asserted themselves over the narrative, the congress critter in question overrode his own statement, and the indifferent media then burried any mention of the episode with Jimmy Hoffa’s body?
