The first-person perspective has become familiar to those who play video games. It has generally been used sparingly in other forms of media.
A new action film will place its audience in the first-person perspective for its entire run time. Hardcore Henry looks and feels like a video game, complete with a pseudo-sci-fi premise. It remains to be seen whether the perspective works for a feature-length production without the typically associated interactivity.
The film stars District 9’s Sharlto Copley and veteran actor Tim Roth alongside relative newcomer Haley Bennett. You’ll be able to check out the action in theaters on April 8.
