There’s a heckuva Drudge headline to wake up to.
WHITE HOUSE: WE CAN STOP NKOREA NUKE STRIKE
And I can stop Spider-Man from stealing me Lucky Charms. Because there is no Spider-Man. And I don’t have any Lucky Charms.
As discussed yesterday, North Korea doesn’t have the ability to launch a nuke at the United States. Not yet, anyway — and probably not for a long time, if ever. And should the DPRK attempt to hurt us that way, the country would cease to exist. Not even Beijing would interfere to save an “ally” who did that.
That’s not to say North Korea can’t hurt us, or get up to all kinds of mischief, and just generally be an unpleasant distraction. They can.
But Kim’s threats and bluster are for domestic consumption. As is our President’s boast that he can stop it.
