You might have seen the Drudge “freakout” headline, that Obama has a “lock on only 7 states.” I say: Not so fast there, pardner. Let’s look at how RCP scores the race.

Do you see a problem here? RCP shows South Carolina as only leaning towards Romney. Leaning. SC is about as likely to go for Obama as I am to reach for the bottle of water sitting right next to the bottle of single malt scotch. Georgia, Tennessee are likely? Oregon and New Mexico are leaning? North Carolina just too darn close to call? No.

RCP doesn’t poll, doesn’t measure, doesn’t model. They simply aggregate. For finding good stories and columns, they’re one of the best. But this? This is mostly crap.
