Four More Years! Four More Years!

Good news, everyone! Larry King will be gracing our television screens* for another four years:

CNN has inked a contract extension with Larry King, keeping the iconic interviewer at the news net through 2009.

Deal is worth close to $7 million a year, Daily Variety has learned, and assures the immediate future of “Larry King Live” while quelling speculation that King’s sometimes stand-in Nancy Grace is being groomed as his replacement.

Awesome, because I just can’t get enough of his bold, inquisitive, and take-nothing-at-face-value interviews, such as those with “psychic” Sylvia Brown. Now THAT, my friends, is the bleeding edge of journalism!

Can you imagine the vast wasteland that cable news would become without it?

I can, and let me tell you: it’s not pretty (although it does have an IQ about 40 points higher).

P.S. Sylvia, James Randi is still awaiting your response to his challenge. I suppose she knows in advance that she can’t pass it. Hey, maybe she really is psychic after all!

P.P.S. If you like what you just read, yada yada yada.

* He graces mine only while channel surfing. Of course, since Comcast onDemand has the “adult movies” now, there’s not much need to surf past channel 1. Hubba hubba rubba dubba ding dong. In a manner of saying.
