A Million Easy Pieces

I just found out that, sometimes, if you put a CD into a high-speed computer drive to rip it for your multi-source listening pleasure, that all of its microscopic wear-and-tear cracks in the hub might decide to coalesce into one or more big cracks which then cause the CD to shatter into glass-like shards, exploding throughout the interior of your CD-ROM drive.

Well, that was neat.

Poor, poor Jack Johnson CD.

So, you kids be careful out there.

Update: And especially keep your pee pee away from the CD-ROM drive. Not that you would normally be flappin’ it around there, but – with some of you – I just can’t be too sure.

Always looking out for you, that’s me.
