From the Jerusalem Post:
Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat phoned a number of senior Hamas officials in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours in an attempt to persuade them to resume inter-Palestinian talks about the establishment of a joint leadership.
There are two ways to react to this story.
You can get indignant:
Arafat? Unity talks? The man who has done more than anyone to set back the Palestinian cause and ruin its culture? The man whose idea of unity is five million Palestinians under his boot? Please.
Or you can just ask yourself, “How many of those phone lines went mysteriously dead, right after a very loud boom?”
