Christian Convoy: U.S. Congress Must Eliminate All Funding to the UN

The World Council of Independent Christian Churches’ envoy to the UN has called on the U.S. Congress to eliminate all funding to the world body after the Security Council passed anti-Semitic Resolution 2334.

“We are calling on President-elect Donald Trump, upon his first order of business on January 21, 2017, to call upon Congress to cut all funding to the UN and to immediately begin the process of moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv, to her biblical, ancient capital, Jerusalem,” Laurie Cardoza-Moore said late Wednesday evening.

Although President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry probably never heard of her — after all, they’re not especially friendly towards religious Christians — Cardoza-Moore is an influential Christian leader. As the envoy of the WCICC, she represents as many as 40 million Christian congregants worldwide. She’s also president of another organization called Proclaiming Justice to the Nations.

Cordoza-Moore is outraged — not just at the UN, but also at President Obama who, by all accounts, stabbed Israel in the back while the entire Christian world was busy celebrating Christmas. Cardoza- Moore:

As Christians around the world were preparing to celebrate Christmas, and our Jewish brethren were preparing for Hanukka, the United Nations, with the wide-predicted support of President Barack Obama – with a single vote, they have denied our Jewish brethren the rights to their homeland as well as threatening the very survival of Christians and our holy sites in the biblical heartland.

She concludes:

It is past time for the US to send a message loud and clear that we the people will stand with our Jewish brethren and Israel in the struggle for her right to inhabit her ancient biblical and legal homeland.

It’s good to see that at least one large and international Christian organization condemns the resolution for what it is: an anti-Semitic attempt to weaken and ultimately destroy Israel. Israel has every right to exist, and Arab countries that cry foul because Israel was expanded after 1967 have only themselves to blame. After all, they attacked the Jewish nation and tried to destroy her. Sadly for them (and thankfully for everyone else), Israel won. If Arab states didn’t want Israel to expand, they shouldn’t have attacked her. It’s that simple. Once they did, they lost the right to complain about any of Israel’s policies.

I understand that those countries simply decided to wage war by other means — through diplomacy rather than by force of arms — but it’s insanely pathetic that the current U.S. administration lets them get away with it. Well, that’s perhaps a bit of an understatement. By all accounts, the Obama administration actually led the effort to pass Resolution 2334.

That’s why Cordoza-Moore is right to call on Trump to defund the UN once he’s in office. Obama isn’t going to do it; he’s part of the anti-Semitic gang in charge of the world body. The good news is that this is about to change — fast. Obama can try to do as much damage as he possibly can in his last few weeks in office, but Trump will be able to overturn most if not all of it. The best way to do it is for the U.S. to simply stop funding the United Nations. The UN is nothing without continued U.S. support.

To make sure Trump does indeed defund the UN and overturn Obama’s failed policies, it’s of vital importance that Christian organizations and individual voters put as much pressure on Trump as possible. He and his cabinet have to understand that there is just one option for them: to stand by Israel and to support the nation while her enemies try to destroy her. Until Obama, America has always done so. Let Trump be the one who restores that precious tradition.
