Reid Responds to Campaign Finance Decision With Decorum And Restraint. Just Kidding - He Comes Up With Another Koch Conspiracy

Today, the US Supreme Court struck down the individual limit on campaign contributions to multiple candidates. The ruling left limits on contributions to individual campaigns untouched. The effect will be that high dollar donors of all stripes can now contribute however much money they want to as many campaigns as they want, while they are still limited to how much they can give to specific candidates.

While Republicans are cheering the ruling as supporting the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech, Sen. Harry Reid decried it in the only way that he knows how: with lots and lots of Koch.

“The Supreme Court today just accentuated what they did on Citizens United, which is a decision that is one of the worst decisions in the history of that court,” Reid said during a press conference on raising the minimum wage. “All it does is take away people’s rights because, as you know, the Koch brothers are trying to buy America.”

When Reid rejects billionaire and convicted inside trader George Soros’ contributions on the left, and when he endeavors to reject the massive contributions of trial lawyer Steve Mostyn in Texas, he can begin to develop some credibility.

Democrats are already proposing legislation to limit contributions, but we can rest assured that any legislation that they back will somehow leave a loophole for their own donors to exploit.
