Actually, it was the citizens of Colorado who won. The left will be feverishly spinning this double defeat for days, as they were desperate to make it seem as if western states were becoming less in love with guns. In reality, a recall is one of the purest exercises of the electorate’s power. Yes, some outside groups spend money but recalls are a rather quick expression of the voters’ prerogative.

The exception, of course, would be the recall mounted in Wisconsin by the powers that be in Big Labor and which featured amounts of money spent on the losing effort that dwarfs what gun groups spent in Colorado.

Lesson: if it isn’t really what the people want, special interests don’t have the power in a recall that they do in a regular election.
