Team Perry: 49 Days, $17 Million Raised

Gov. Rick Perry’s campaign announced that it has raised an impressive $17 million in the 49 days he has been in the presidential race. Nearly all of that money was for use in the GOP primary, and came from roughly 22,000 donors. A little over half came from donors beyond the state of Texas. Comparatively, Gov. Mitt Romney hasn’t released fundraising numbers for this quarter yet but has said that it expected to raise $11 to $13 million. Romney raised a little over $18 million over the entire previous quarter.
