Boehner Budget Deal Dead

Just heard from a friend on the Hill who works in a congressional office, who writes:

The Boehner plan just blew up.  Reid has announced that Boehner’s plan is DOA in the Senate. He doesn’t even have the votes in the House. The deal is dead. Caucus not in the mood for compromise. That’s not why they got elected. Every congressional office is overwhelmed with calls from their districts telling them no new taxes and no debt ceiling hike without actually cutting the deficit and addressing the debt. And no deal that would let Obama skate through the election with a no-limit credit card at taxpayer expense. We could be here working on this through Labor Day.

Good on the GOP for not letting Obama and his establishment media allies bully them into a bad deal.
