Texas family mourns US soldier killed in bar fight

Senseless.

A Grand Prairie family said they are grieving the loss of their son following a deadly bar fight over the weekend.

Orlando Salazar, 28, was an Army serviceman in the 82nd Airborne Division. Salazar was set to make a duty station change from Fort Bragg to Fort Hood in a few weeks and was home visiting family.

Salazar was with friends and family at El Torro Loco Saturday night when a fight broke out.

His assailants reportedly knocked him to the ground where he was knocked out, they kicked him repeatedly, and then fled the scene. Police are still looking for them, but no suspect descriptions or names have been released.

Salazar had served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and was set for an assignment at Ft. Hood, Texas.
