The NYT's Stupid Book Tricks

Professor Charles Lipson  has noticed a trick the NYT has engaged in to diminish the sales and influence of conservative writers:

Sometimes, the sheer nerve of these guys astounds even a grizzled political analyst like me.

The NYT Book Review, tired of Fox News contributors’ books filling the top 10 non-fiction slots, has quietly shifted them to the “Advice and Misc.” category, alongside the cookbooks and marriage manuals.

I’m not kidding.  Here.

One likely (desired?) effect is to shift those books off the “Best Seller” shelves at B&N, Borders, etc.

Another likely and much desired effect is to shift the NYT Book Review into the circular file.
