'Hit 'em again' says the left of Cohen

I have a piece up today at FrontPage.com on the reaction to Steve Cohen’s “Republicans are Nazis” remarks on the House floor.

While some lefties like Kevin Drum at Mother Jones took Cohen to task for his incivility, others gave him a pass by pretending he wasn’t comparing the GOP to fascists. There were also those who basically gave the same advice imparted to Rep. Preston Brooks after he caned Senator Charles Sumner on the floor of the Senate in 1856. Brooks received memorial canes from all over the South, many of them inscribed “Hit him again!” That seemed to be the battle cry at such enlightened websites as the Democratic Underground.

When even the liberal National Democratic Jewish Council thinks you’ve stepped over the line, you might want to put down the cane and try to make amends.
