Mentally unwell women have certainly been front and center in the headlines lately, haven't they? For once, I'm not talking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Jasmine Crockett. We've been plagued with a disturbing run of Mommy Dearest x 1000 types recently.
Has this been going on for a while and we're just finding out about it, or is there a collective mental episode in progress?
Those of us who had garden-variety dysfunctional family childhoods look pretty bad if we complain about our mothers these days. This could potentially put a cramp in the styles of a lot of comedians, myself included. Anyway, I'm making it a point to thank my mom for not murdering me.
