Microsoft DACA Statement Is Brazenly Anti-Rule of Law

The hysteria surrounding President Trump’s decision to make Congress do its job regarding DACA and DAPA has been a bit overwrought. And dishonest.

Tucker Carlson was one of the few prominent media types who discussed it with some honesty, actually using the word “illegal.”

DACA not only deals with people who are here illegally, but was implemented in a way that tests legality. At some point it would be nice if that aspect bothered more people.

Tech giant Microsoft isn’t bothered by any of that law stuff though.

Microsoft responded strongly to the Trump administration’s decision on Tuesday to move toward rescinding or replacing DACA within six months.

“There is nothing that we will be pushing on more strongly for congress to act on,” Microsoft president and chief legal officer Brad Smith said in an interview with NPR. “We put a stake in the ground. We care about a tax reform bill,” Smith said, noting that the entire business community cares about one but that this needs to be settled first.

Smith added that it won’t be easy for the government to deport Microsoft employees who are DREAMers: “[The government’s] going to have to go through us to get that person,” Smith said.

The Democrats and progressives have obviously been taking us down this path for years. The law is irrelevant if your feelings are in line with leftist collective group think.

We’ve seen it in the “debate” about illegal immigration for years. We are seeing it now with all of the leftist reluctance to condemn Antifa violence.

It’s almost as if they are driving us to a lawless, post-apocalypse society and trying to bypass the apocalypse.

In a sane world, a major corporation shouldn’t be able to proudly proclaim that it will be breaking the law and not have there be consequences.

Microsoft will be praised for this, no doubt.

This is what happens when the left is allowed to dictate virtually every aspect of a debate on a large issue. They, with the help of their media friends, change the language (AP Style won’t use “illegal”) and the rules until there isn’t any debate at all. What’s left is either speaking their language or being called racist, Nazi, or whatever their fetish epithet is that week for anyone who disagrees with them.

It is also why people may be drawn to a politician who is rather indelicate towards them.

Whoever that may be.
