Here’s an old joke: A man goes into a psychiatrist’s office, worried he might have an unhealthy fixation on sex. So the shrink conducts the Rorschach inkblot test, showing him a series of images and asking him what he sees.
After each inkblot, the guy sees the exact same thing: “Those are breasts! And… those are breasts! Also, those are breasts!”
Finally, the shrink looks at him and says, “Yes, I think you might be fixated on sex.”
“You think I’m fixated?” exclaimed the guy. “You’re the one with all the dirty pictures!”
And this brings us to the latest sighting of aspirational Nazism in the great political wild: At the Trump inaugural party, billionaire Elon Musk made a gesture, moving his hand from his heart toward the crowd.
Naturally, that could only mean one thing:

Yes, when an autistic, awkward billionaire points to his heart and extends his arm, it MUST mean he’s secretly a Nazi. What else could it possibly be?
Musk responded to the “controversy” in his own imitable way:

And he’s right, of course, because, if you notice, the left is very selective with these Hitler sightings: They’re only on the right.
They never see Nazis anywhere on the left. Not even when they’re supporting Hamas, condemning Israelis as colonizers, or attacking Jewish students on college campuses. The Squad can accuse Israel/Jews of “hypnotizing” the world with “the Benjamins, baby,” and the left won’t say a word.
But when someone like Elon Musk makes a clumsy hand gesture? Yup, he’s a Nazi.
In all honesty, we’ve reached the point where most Jews are safer in the rural, antebellum South than in the dorm rooms of Northern Ivy League colleges. They’re less likely to be harassed, assaulted, or targeted by antisemites.
And that matters because it exposes the disingenuousness of the left: They don’t really care about Nazis, Hitler, or the safety of Jews.
Instead, they only care about scoring political points.
Hamas protesters beat up Jews and vandalized synagogues. They mocked the victims whom Hamas raped, abducted, disfigured, kidnapped, and murdered. It was the ugliest explosion of global antisemitism since World War II.
Yet none of the “good liberals” said or did anything. And they refused to do anything until Elon Musk made a clumsy hand gesture.
The Left has chosen to use the Chosen People as a wedge issue: They’re “useful idiots” when branding conservatives as racists. As a political prop, they’re quite helpful.
But beyond that?
For young liberals, Israel is about as popular as the Nazis. Nearly 70% of young liberals opposed Biden’s Israel policy. Their hearts are with the Palestinians.
The trouble is that the vast majority of Palestinians hate Jews and want them to die: Over 90% of them have antisemitic beliefs — more than any other place in the world.
Well, what better way to protect yourself from allegations of antisemitism than to attack your enemies first?
Which is why Donald Trump was Hitler. And Elon Musk is now Hitler. And tomorrow, another conservative will be Hitler.
It turns out that the left is seeing Nazis behind every corner for the same reason that the man in the psychiatrist’s office kept seeing breasts in every inkblot: Liberals have a Führer fetish.
And it’s not healthy.
