"Republicans want to kill your kids. It's actually true." At least, that's what Washington Post columnist and MNSBC contributor Jennifer Rubin said on her podcast recently anyway. I was writing an article about it a few days ago, and all I could think about was how ridiculous and unhinged this woman sounded.
But I'd also just finished covering the Laken Riley murder trial, and it reminded me that Democrats don't just "want to kill your kids." Many of their laws and policies actually are killing your children as we speak. While Rubin was carrying on about how Republicans oppose breakthrough medical research and want to give minors semi-automatic weapons, the fact is that the Biden-Harris administration allowed Laken Riley's murderer into the country illegally and even provided him with a free taxpayer-funded flight to Georgia. And while Riley was a 22-year-old college student, she was still someone's child. Just watch this police body cam video of her mother and stepfather finding out that she is dead:

So, with that in mind, I decided to compile a list of some of the ways Democrats are killing your kids as a rebuttal to Rubin's unhinged podcast. Sadly, it was all too easy. Which brings me to the first item on the list:
1. An Unsecure Border
Laken Riley's murderer, Jose Ibarra, came to the United States from Venezuela by crossing the border illegally in 2022. He was apprehended at the time but released with a court date and bussed to New York and eventually flown to Georgia by the Biden-Harris administration. We now know he was a member of the criminal organization Tren de Aragua. He'd been arrested several times before he tried to rape and bashed Riley's head in with a rock. And yet, he was allowed to remain in a country that he wasn't even supposed to be in in the first place.
Of course, this isn't the only example of someone's child dying at the hands of someone who shouldn't have been in the country in the first place. One of the most notable cases is 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray — an actual child — who was found strangled in a creek in Houston, Texas. Two Venezuelan men who were in the country illegally were arrested for the murder. And while it's not exactly killing children, per se, last week I wrote about several illegal migrants have raped children in Massachusetts and Colorado.
2. Abortion
This is probably the most obvious item on the list, but it's a big one. I believe life begins at conception. I'm a Christian, but I was also a science major in college, and I always saw this as a scientific fact rather than a philosophical one. Apparently, 96% of biologists from 1,058 academic institutions around the world agree with me. We all know Democrats love abortion. They were even banking on it being what pushed Kamala Harris into the White House next year. I think that's all I need to say about that.
3. Suicide Rates Among LGBT Kids
According to the Trevor Project, "Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people aged 10 to 14, and the third leading cause of death among 15-24 year olds. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) young people are at significantly increased risk." Discrimination and lack of social support are some of the leading causes. And, of course, we've all heard stories of how many of the "T" kids in the LGTB umbrella grow up to regret transitioning during their youth and essentially ruining their lives.
Yet Democrats love this stuff, and they love to push it on kids who aren't even old enough to cross the street by themselves, let alone make a decision that will change the course of their entire lives. If your son say he's a girl, or your daughter says she's a boy, maybe don't head straight for the gender-affirming care and turn your first grader into a social pariah who will grow up to hate themselves if they do, in fact, get the chance to grow up. When he/she/they/them reaches 18, they can do what they want, but allowing children to "transition" is just criminal and a very poor way to respond to a potential mental illness. Or a whim.
I say "whim" because for a brief period of my childhood, I wanted to be a boy because I wanted to play Major League Baseball. When I was around seven or eight, I had dreams of becoming a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. My grandmother used to tell me that I would become a boy if I could kiss my elbow. My dad played baseball with me in the yard. A few months later, I discovered the New Kids on the Block, and I forgot all about becoming the next Tom Glavine or John Smoltz. Thank God my parents were not liberal loons raising me in 2024.
4. Inner City Crime
You can look at any presidential election map in recent years and see that big cities are the bluest of blue areas. They're also the most riddled with crime, and those crimes often result in kids literally getting killed. Let's look at Chicago. In January 2022, CBS reported that "At least 276 children aged 16 and younger have been shot in Chicago" since the beginning of 2021. ABC7 in Chicago reported over the summer that "109 people were shot, 19 fatally" over the course of the long 4th of July weekend. The victims include 8-, 15-, and 16-year-olds. While terrible, it's only happening in places where Democrats are running the show.
5. Riots
Remember the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020? In Atlanta specifically, Democrat Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms lost control of the city, and 8-year-old Secoriea Turner was shot while riding in the back of her mother's SUV near the location of one of those riots. Her parents went on to sue the mayor and other officials for allowing "lawlessness, violence, and vigilantism." Yet Democrats continued to push this type of behavior. Tim Walz's wife, Gwen, said she left her windows open so she could smell burning tires during riots in Minneapolis. What kind of weirdo says that when people are losing their lives and livelihoods? Thank goodness those people didn't become the country's second couple.
I could write a whole new story on COVID lockdowns and vaccines, and I'm sure there are countless other items on this list that I'm missing (feel free to share more in the comments section). But the fact of the matter is that Democrats kill kids with their inane ideas and stupid policies. Yes, Jennifer Rubin, it's actually true.
