Hold your breath, ladies and gentlemen, if you aren’t already, because we are definitely in the land of “who knows what will happen next”. When you read“A missile fired by Hezbollah, not an unmanned drone laden with explosives, damaged an Israeli warship off Lebanon, the army said Saturday. Iranian troops helped fire the missile, a senior intelligence official said.

One sailor was killed and three were missing.

The intelligence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the information, said about 100 Iranian soldiers are in Lebanon and helped fire the Iranian-made, radar-guided C-102 at the ship late Friday.

If that is true, fasten your seat belts…

MEANWHILE: It’s nice to read some sanity.

ALSO: Imshin is back blogging and none too soon. This Israeli blogger (see all her posts) is terrific and writes brilliantly of the current situation. Do not miss it.

Another Imshin (Not a Fish) post definitely worth reading with information about the Iranian missiles.

MORE on the rockets here. The anonymous Chuck, blathering on below, obviously doesn’t have any relatives living in Tiberias, Haifa. etc. Otherwise these stockpiles might give him pause. But, y’know, it’s all about geopolitics.

UPDATE: I had to laugh at this quote from loyal (in terms of narrative) NYTimesman Michael Slackman. (I finally got around to his analysis of this morning): “No one doubts that the recent events served Hezbollah’s interests, at least in the short term.”

Er, Michael, only a few hours later the Prime Minister of leban on has announced that he is willing (finally) to move Hezbollah off the Southern border of his country. A victory for Nasrallah (who is in hiding)? It is so if you think so.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Also blogging fantastically well from the Middle East on the current situation is (no surprise) the Big Pharaoh. But there is actually a surprise. His dad was an Egyptian general – and a very sane sounding one too. Scroll down his posts.
