A powerful earthquake has shaken Mexico City, home to 8.8 million people. The U.S. Geological Survey says it had a magnitude of 7.1. The video coming in is terrifying:

This earthquake comes on the heels of a magnitude 3.6 earthquake that hit just north of Los Angeles in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Today is also the anniversary of a devastating earthquake that hit Mexico City in 1985. Wikipedia reports:
The 1985 Mexico City earthquake struck in the early morning of 19 September at 07:17:50 (CST) with a moment magnitude of 8.0 and a Mercalli intensity of IX (Violent). The event caused serious damage to the Greater Mexico City area and the deaths of at least 5,000 people.
This could be very bad, folks. And with ongoing relief efforts underway to aid victims of the recent hurricanes, government agencies, NGOs, and religious relief organizations are going to be strained to the breaking point.
It feels like the whole world is groaning right now with wars and rumors of wars, hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquakes. Be prepared.
