As the first votes of the 2016 election season are about to be cast, sentiment has coalesced for or against particular candidates in Iowa. Today’s results may prove most consequential to Donald Trump, showing whether or not his strong polling and huge crowds translate to actual caucus votes. Many Iowa voters have remained undecided up to the last minute.

Into their deliberation speaks a coalition of pro-life leaders who have come out against Donald Trump. In a joint statement from Iowa Right to Life and Concerned Women for America, they write:

We urge Republican caucus-goers and voters to support anyone but Donald Trump. On the issue of defending unborn children and protecting women from the violence of abortion, Mr. Trump cannot be trusted…. We have come to this conclusion after having listened patiently to numerous debates and news reports, but most importantly to Donald Trump’s own words.

Trump’s own words have been causing him a lot of trouble in the final days leading up to the Iowa caucuses, as opponents continue to cite many past comments which contradict his current articulated positions.
