The wife of one of the more inconsequential presidents in recent history said at a college signing day event, “If I can be standing here as your forever first lady, then you can do anything you put your mind to.”
Obama’s comments about being the nation’s “forever first lady” drew massive applause from the audience. She later referred to herself as the “former first lady.”
During her speech, Obama urged students to keep pursuing their education dreams, despite setbacks and struggles.
“Remember this moment when you’re out there. When you hit those roadblocks,” she said.
I suppose she’s right. She will forever be known as the first lady who came up with the most idiotic school lunch program in history — food that kids wouldn’t eat, forcing school districts to throw away tons and tons of uneaten food.
She will forever be known as the first lady who said of her husband’s historic race for president, “Let me tell you something. For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country…”
She will forever be known as the first lady who threatened people if they didn’t get involved: “Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.”
She will forever be known as the first lady who said, “Barack is one of the smartest men we will see in our lifetime.”
Barack Obama will be a footnote in history. Despite his grandiose promises of revolutionary change and “transforming” America, he was unable to accomplish much of anything. Although he did ruin our healthcare system and make spectacular and deadly mistakes in foreign policy. Much of what he said he accomplished is being undone by Trump.
And his wife is the “forever first lady”?
