Iran's Supreme Leader Weighs In on American Gun Control Debate

Here’s a situation rich with irony: Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the kind of leader that the Second Amendment was written to prevent, is offering his advice to the U.S. on getting rid of firearms.

Snort. And a double heh.

The Daily Wire:

Khamenei’s “hard line” on guns is nothing new. One of the Ayatollah’s first orders of business, when he came to power, was to disarm his own citizens – a technique regularly used by “supreme leaders” to extend their tenures.

Ultimately, Khamenei makes a unique case that the Second Amendment is, in fact, an insurance policy against tyranny.

Now, of course, the left, despite being vocal on gun control for the last several weeks, embracing nearly every unqualified expert in agreement with them, up to and including members of the Kardashian family, has been silent on the Ayatollah’s expressed agreement with their agenda. But there is an undercurrent of support – as recently as early January, the Huffington Post wrote glowingly of some of the Ayatollah’s ideas.

What makes this even funnier is that the irony is completely lost on this ignoramus. This guy has the gall to point out police brutality in America? A leader whose “religious police” go around beating up women for not covering their entire body in a burlap sack?

A few choice tweets from that thread:

That last tweet refers to Iranian protests in December against corruption and a moribund economy. While the true death toll will never be known, the government reported 21 killed and 450 arrests.

American police don’t go around gunning down 21 U.S. citizens in the streets — even if they’re violent anarchists like Antifa or brain-dead white supremacists who get off on bashing heads. Methinks the ayatollah should get his own house in order before pointing a finger elsewhere.
