Grammy Award-winning vocalist — and platinum recording artist — Kaya Jones sits on the advisory board of Women for Trump. Yes, you read that correctly: she’s a famous, award-winning singer who’s openly supporting the current Republican president.

That fact alone makes her brave enough, but Jones takes it a step (or ten) further. She takes to Twitter regularly to defend the president against his detractors, and especially against leftist hacks who accuse him of racism.

Today, she directs her ire at Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings, the congressman from Baltimore who was called out by President Trump for letting his city become a rat-infested mess. Although leftist politicians, activists and journalists (but I repeat myself) immediately argued that Trump’s criticism was yet more proof of his supposed racism, Jones begs to differ.

“In 2018 [President Trump] gave 16.5 billion in federal grants to Elijah Cummings! That’s why Potus expects results!” she writes. He has, she continues, “every right to call out Cummings for NOT looking after his people. Where’s Elijah Cummings right now? In Rome. Not in Baltimore! Gross!” She ends her tweet with the hashtag #Trump2020.

In another tweet, Jones points out that Rep. Cummings actually declined an offer to ” tour a Baltimore Housing & Urban Development (HUD) facility with HUD Secretary Ben Carson.”

Apparently, Rep. Cummings has much more important things to do than taking care of his city — and the people who elected him. As Democrats love to say: Do as I say, not as I do. Isn’t that right?
