Just when you thought the Bushes were safe from the derangement syndrome on the left (because they’re too busy spewing all their bile on the Trump family), leftists prove they’re better at multitasking their hatred than we thought.
Ellen DeGeneres had the nerve to accept an invitation to a Dallas Cowboys game from the owner and his wife, Jerry and Eugenia Jones. Her big mistake was not interrogating her hosts before the event to find out if there might be any yucky Republicans there. The biggest, baddest, most awful, no-good Republican (next to Trump), George W. Bush, happened to be on the invite list. Ellen went and behaved the way normal people are supposed to behave in mixed company: politely. The internet, however, will never forgive her for not throwing her drink right in the face of the dastardly former president and his wife, who happened to be seated next to DeGeneres and her spouse, and demanding that he be banished from all good society while everyone around her cringed. (Then, if she were a good leftist, she would tweet about it and embellish her tale of woe and add in lots of clapping.)
The internet is very angry. Tweets like this are everywhere and #CancelCulture is after DeGeneres. It was so ridiculous that DeGeneres had to make a statement about it that should be required viewing in every house in this divided nation.

“I’m friends with George Bush,” she said. “In fact, I’m friends with a lot of people who don’t share the same beliefs that I have. We’re all different and I think that we’ve forgotten that’s okay that we’re all different.” DeGeneres likened her friendship with Bush to her friendships with people who like fur. “I wish people wouldn’t wear fur. I don’t like it, but I’m friends with people who wear fur.” She made sure to throw in her signature comedy too. She continued, “I’m friends with people who are furry, as a matter of fact. I have friends who should tweeze more.” Then she laid down real truth: “Just because I don’t agree with someone on everything doesn’t mean I’m not going to be friends with them. When I say be kind to one another, I don’t mean only the people that think the same way that you do. I mean be kind to everyone.”
This is a message directly to those of you who think anyone who voted for Donald Trump is worthy of scorn and banishment from even your own families. America used to be a place where Democrats and Republicans actually liked each other after the partisan bickering was over for the day. The hell we find ourselves in now, where families are breaking apart over politics, is gross and it’s fueled by media lies and exaggerations about who Republicans are and what we believe.
I have a challenge for Ellen, since she’s decided that everyone deserves kindness: She could use her platform to further this unity by inviting the first lady, Melania Trump, onto her show. She is the first first lady whom no one in the entertainment media will speak to and it’s unbearably rude. She’s been “unpersoned” by every single magazine and entertainment show. If all you had to go on was Vogue and television talk shows, you wouldn’t know her name. She’s a great representative of our country and is working very hard every day on issues that everyone cares about. In fact, Mrs. Trump has been working for one of DeGeneres’s favorite causes, anti-bullying. This is something that all adults should be able to get behind. Why hasn’t DeGeneres given Melania a chance to show America who she is and make friends with her? She took Michelle Obama to CVS and had her on multiple times.
Speaking of Michelle Obama, no one on Twitter seems to care that she’s quite chummy with George W. Bush.

One of the dumbest charges by the armchair quarterback crowd is that George W. Bush is a “war criminal.” Well, maybe. But then wouldn’t Barack Obama also be a war criminal for not ending the war they are suddenly mad at again? Where were the cries of “war criminal” from 2008 to 2015 when Obama was running that war? It is a well-known fact that Obama was heavy-handed with the drone strikes, ordering ten times the number of strikes as Bush did. From Newsweek,
Obama’s willingness to back the drone program represented an early inflection point in his war on terror. Over time, the attacks grew—far beyond anything that had been envisioned by the Bush administration. When Obama accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in December 2009, he had authorized more drone strikes than George W. Bush had approved during his entire presidency.
The left only hates wars when Republicans run them. This is illustrative in the overreaction to Trump’s decision not to involve the U.S. in a Turkish skirmish. If it were Obama, there would be a ticker-tape parade and he would be given another Nobel Peace Prize for nothing.
Good for Ellen for calling out the terrible philosophy of #CancelCulture that seeks to destroy anyone who has a differing opinion than the accepted groupthink. But if she really is serious, then she should start undoing all the hysteria surrounding the Trump family, starting with our beautiful FLOTUS. Let’s get #FLOTUSonEllen trending.
