MAGA Hat Attack: New York Man Severely Beaten for Daring to Wear Trump Hat in Public
A New York man suffered severe injuries to his face earlier this week after he says he was viciously beaten for wearing one of President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats.
Jahangir "John" Turan, the owner of a New York City art gallery, told Fox 5 New York that on Tuesday he was "jumped" in Manhattan by a group of about 15 "teens" who yelled obscenities like “f--- Trump.”

Turan said that he had visited Trump Tower earlier in the day and purchased the MAGA hat to show his support for the president. "I love President Trump. I think he's doing a great job," he told reporters at a news conference Thursday afternoon.
Turan said that one of the assailants smashed his head into a scaffolding pole. While he was on the ground, the brutes allegedly stomped on him.
“They beat me up for wearing the hat,” Turan said. “They were saying ‘Why are you wearing that?’ One girl flipped the hat off my head, and I tried to grab it. Then they came after me. One guy grabbed me from behind and slammed my head against a metal post.”
Police were not able to make any arrests when they arrived at the scene, in part because Turan was unable to give the officers a good description of his attackers.
“You know what?” Turan told reporters. “It happened too quick. I didn’t have time to think. The cops were like, ‘Can you ID them?’ And I couldn’t. It was just this guy being a punk. It’s almost like he just did it because all his boys were there.”
Turan declined medical attention at the scene, but was later diagnosed with a fracture in his cheek and a badly swollen eye. He said he's waiting to hear from an eye specialist to find out if there is any permanent damage to his sight.
At the news conference, Turan demanded that the NYPD find the thugs responsible for the attack.
“Of course I’m [angry] — why do you think I went to the media?” he said. “I felt angry after Tuesday and Wednesday, when I didn’t see them doing anything. Two days, no arrests. I think some of these cops are anti-Trump.”
Turan also said that he would have to think twice before wearing his MAGA hat in public again.
"It's sad to get beat up for wearing this hat. This is America," Turan said.
Turan should meet the man behind the "MAGA Hat Chronicles" blog. That fearless New Yorker has been wearing his MAGA hats all around the Big Apple since the beginning of the year. He says he was driven to do it after the now-famous incident involving Covington Catholic teenager Nicholas Sandmann in January. Sandmann was demonized by the media for smiling at a Native American activist and wearing a MAGA hat in Washington, D.C., following the March for Life.
Despite the brutality of the attack, many anti-Trumpers on social media are trying to justify the beat-down. [See this thread]. Some are even applauding in approval:

Since the moment President Trump announced his candidacy in 2015, the Democrat-media complex has sought to demonize him using dangerous, over-charged rhetoric.
By labeling the president a "Nazi," "fascist," "dictator," "white supremacist," "predator," "racist," etc., they implicitly justify physical attacks on those who support him. Although the media wants to suppress this narrative, those attacks have been occurring regularly since the 2016 election.
Here's a list of the latest attacks on Trump supporters:
These assaults will only increase in number as we head into the 2020 election as the organized left unleashes angry left-wing mobs on the president's supporters at his campaign rallies.
That's why it's so important for the Trump administration to act on the president's call to designate antifa as a terrorist organization. The sooner the better:
Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others). Would make it easier for police to do their job!

The designation would help law enforcement by allowing them to examine suspects’ known associations and affiliations. This wouldn't be of any use in the cases where violent freelancers just pop off st the sight of a red hat, but at least it's something.
